dreamflower: gandalf at bag end (Default)
OK, I know that voice-posts from LJ don't import.

Now I am discovering that YouTube embeds don't seem to import either. I use a lot of those, so is there a trick to embedding here? I just use the embed option at YouTube under "share", so I did not think that was an LJ code.

I would like to post here more often, but I obviously am missing some information. Any help here?

ETA: Another question: the other day, it took about an hour to import of about two years worth of LJ posts. Last night I tried to import about two days worth, and it is still running this morning. I'm afraid to interrupt it, but if it's still running when I get home from work, I might have to.

Any suggestions?

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] the_mad_hobbit for pointing me in the direction of this idea.

It's a tiny thing, but a good idea.

This is fascinating:

It's just three rooms, a bedroom, bath and living area. No kitchen. But she does explain that she's planning to build more of these, plus a communal kitchen.

He is Risen!

To my fellow Christians, I hope you have a joyful and blessed Easter Day!
((((hugs)))) to all my friends! And I thank you for following my journey through Lent, whether you are a fellow believer or not!

Here is one last thing I found to share with you all:

A beautiful instrumental arrangement of one of my most favorite hymns:

Ecclesiastes 3 (KJV)

3 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

I was off from work this Sunday. We had Communion this Sunday. I thought today I'd share the Prayer of Confession we used this morning:

Gracious and loving God,
forgive us for seeing others from only a human point of view,
with assumptions and prejudices that don't honor what you have created.
Open our eyes to see afresh
the signs of your new creation through Christ,
until we are reconciled with you, with ourselves and with others.

And here is the hymn we sang for communion:

We also had a potluck dinner after the service, which was really nice, as I have missed out due to work for a few months. (They have it on the first Sunday of the month.)

This is such a fascinating interpretation of the Twenty-third Psalm:

I haven't been feeling up to snuff for a few days now, actually I'm on antibiotics for a nasty bug, and have a doc's note putting me off work this weekend. So coming across this while looking for today's Lenten post made me feel a little better, and a whole lot grateful:
