Lent 2015: The Fifth Sunday in Lent

I didn't have to work today, so we got to attend church this morning.

This was our opening prayer:

O gracious and Holy Father,
give us wisdom to perceive thee,
intelligence to understand thee,
diligence to seek thee,
patience to wait for thee,
eyes to behold thee,
a heart to meditate upon thee, and
a life to proclaim thee; through
the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord

Oh - I love Now the Green Blade Riseth, it is one of my very favourite hymns!

It's truly lovely; we don't sing it often, but I always enjoy it when we do.

That was our hymn on Sunday! I had mixed feelings about that, seeing as how at that moment our green grass was getting yet another coating of snow. But I do like that hymn and your prayer.

This is so beautiful! I'd never heard this hymn before.

I know this might seem inappropriate, but the modal sound, the young student looking choir and the setting made it feel like something from Harry Potter.
