What's wrong with LJ?

I opened a notification this morning and it took me to a friend's comment page, but before I could even scroll down, and without me clicking anything, it flipped to her main page. Then I tried to look at my friends page and it flipped to my main page. It won't let me look at either comments or friends pages. Bwuh?

What's going on?

I keep seeing hints that LJ is making major changes in our flists. So what's that about? I can't seem to find anything out about it.

Arrrgh!

I just spent an hour and a half making the next voting poll for the T&F awards, and when I went to post it, LJ gave me this message:

[Error parsing poll: Text inside an lj-pi tag must be between 1 and 255 characters. Yours is 0.]

Now, I know I had more than 0 characters! Am I going to have to chop this poll up even more? I had more than 255 characters in the first poll!

Does anyone know what the heck it means? And what I will have to do to fix it?

Scrapbook

Hey, LJ! I do not like the new scrapbook!

I thought at first I would-- it's much faster uploading. But you seem to have take away the whole purpose of it-- before, I could arrange the pictures and captions right there at the scrapbook, and the pictures would be sized properly for an LJ entry. The whole entry would be ready to go.

Unless I am missing something it won't do any of that anymore. I just get a pageful of gigantic pictures with no captions at all. Bummer!

Umm...

Does anyone know what happened to the "100 Things" community? None of my links work, and LJ says it is deleted?

Memeage

I did that "LJ personality test" everyone has been posting. (And how does THAT figure into "herdlike"? I'd think number of memes would certainly say something about that!)

So, dreamflower02, your LiveJournal reveals…

You are… 3% unique (blame, for example, your interest in wee hobbits), 17% peculiar, 33% interesting, 32% normal and 14% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy writing). When it comes to friends you are popular. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are wary of trusting strangers. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is conventional.

Your overall weirdness is: 24

(The average level of weirdness is: 28.
You are weirder than 55% of other LJers.)

Find out what your weirdness level is!

What is wrong with LJ again?

1. This is how my LJ strip looks like (the example is [livejournal.com profile] dracotops_harry, but it's like this for many journals (not [livejournal.com profile] marguerite_26's, though).

2. When I go on "Home" I can't access the top LJ strip at all.

3. Re-posted by [livejournal.com profile] marguerite26 at Livejournal, come on.

Livejournal Scrapbook is going away. Your 10GB of Paid Member space is now 2GB. If you care, there is an explanation in Russian on the Russian news page. There's also a user-submitted translation.

+ You will no longer have access to your Scrapbook once this goes live.
+ Your images will redirect, but the URL will be different.
+ Unable to tell what will happen to any photos you have that put you over the 2GB limit.
+ Back up your Scrapbook just in case.
+ If you want your photos transferred over now instead of waiting, let them know here.

.

I love LJ, it's my home, but this is one of the lowest things they've done. :(

Notifications

Just checking to see what's up with my email notifications from LJ. I've had a couple not show up today.

Anyone? Make a little test comment here?

'k thanks?

Well, I survived

Still feel pretty lousy, but better than yesterday. No church today though, just not up to that. *sigh*

And someone, tell me WHY do these articles worry me?

Umm...I don't WANT LiveJournal to become more popular. I just want everything to stay the same.

That old LJ end of the year...

...first line meme for 2011:

January:OK,everybody, I have never even seen one episode of "Supernatural", but [livejournal.com profile] ramblin_rosie has written a hilarious crossover: movie-verse LotR/Supernatural.

February: I've written a drabble that is not hobbits, nor even LotR! It's set in The Children of Húrin by JRRT, and posted at [livejournal.com profile] great_tales: Labadal and Túrin: Pity

March:I'm taking part in the SWG's and MPTT's joint Back to Middle-earth Month Challenge, Passport to Middle-earth" My entry for today's challenge is a tribble--

April: Ephesians 4:25-32

May: I've posted a little bit of Mother's Day hobbit-fluff over at [livejournal.com profile] hobbit_holidays: A Mother's Work: Adamanta

June: Well, I have finally gotten on a roll with my BB!

July: Here's the story behind one of the Shire's most famous birthday gifts!

August: The Gate to Everywhere by Dreamflower

September: In today's mail was our utility bill for last month: $75 more than we expected it to be. Also in today's mail: an unexpected refund check from our insurance company for an $80 overpayment.

October: [livejournal.com profile] pandemonium_213 has just uploaded the latest chapter of our collaboration, "The Prisoner and The Hobbit"! Chapter 4, The Years of the Trees/Riddles in the Dark is up at Many Paths to Tread!

November: We've been having cable trouble off and on for about three days. By "off and on", I mean it has been "off" more time than "on", so I thought I'd jump in with a post in case anyone in my flist wonders why I'm being so inconsistent with commenting.

December: As promised, some pictures of Sophie! There would be more but I need new camera batteries...

Meet Sophie! Meet Sophie! Here's our Sophie! You can't really see her white chest in this pic.

Now it's reverted back to this old thing again! Argh and more argh!

Let's see how long this lasts...

Well, I never heard from LJ about my layout problem. I have re-set it, and I hope that it won't revert again. *sigh*

The only problem is the font size. In spite of resetting that on the style page back to what I had, the font is staying the same size. Any ideas?

My layout

Last night my layout went wonky again, and was still that way this morning, so I went in and redid it. Except-- now my font is too small.

I went to the style pages and increased the font size, but it seemed to have no effect at all even after I hit "save changes". *sigh*

Any suggestions?

Joining the chorus

Let me add my voice to most of my flist: I don't like the new LJ feature, and I won't be doing any cross-posting. I don't tweet, and I don't really use my facebook page either. And even if I did, I wouldn't cross-post.

And that little announcement on the navigation bar is REALLY annoying and intrusive!

ETA: Here's a poll: http://www.livejournal.com/poll/?id=1613756

I finally caved

And signed up for Facebook. Actually, what happened was the DH accidentally-sort-of signed up for it, and then asked me what he could do with it. Well, I didn't know, so I figured I might as well take the plunge myself and we could figure it out together.

My page is here. I thought I'd basically use it to direct people to my LJ and other places I already frequent. Problem is, the links I tried to put in with the URLs did not come out as links. I tried the < a href ="" > HTML thingie, but it didn't work, so I just put in the plain URLs.

Does anyone know how to put *real* links on my profile there? That way anyone who wants to know about me can just come here.

Why is LJ so weird?

Today I cannot seem to get behind any of the cuts on my flist, or read their comments or get to make a comment from the links on my own friend's page. I get a "page not available". I have to click on *their* LJ first, and *then* I can get in.

Very strange.

Anyone else ever have this problem?
