Well, not so much that the whole day was wasted. We didn't get to go to church after all, because we finally got hold of a stump grinder person who could actually come out and do the job, but the time they could come was right during church time, so much for that.

After they finished grinding the stumps, the "wasting" began. We had to go to Home Depot, because when they finished, the fence was in even worse shape, and we had to get some temporary fencing to keep the dogs in. The actual *getting* of the fence did not take long, and we were able to also order our new storm door (our old one was warped by the hurricane)--but we spent about 30-45 minutes shopping and an hour in line. We also had to stop at Walmart for a couple of things. Big mistake. 15 minutes shopping and an hour and a half in line. That's not counting the time wasted in traffic, or the time circling the parking lot looking in vain for a parking space, or the fact that we had to buy lunch again. We left the house at 10:30 and did not get home until nearly 4PM. Before the storm, we would have finished those errands before Noon and been home in time for lunch. *sigh*

Still things are looking up, though, and once we have the money back from the mortgage company--which *should* happen by Tuesday--*crossing fingers*--we might finally begin to make real progress.

Such a long, frustrating day. My sis and I went to Kohl's yesterday and it was actually a nice experience. They were trying very hard, with helpers and guides to help people find what they wanted and get checked out as quickly as possible. We would have gone to Target, but the parking lot was absolutely full, not a space to be had, so we came home. I know things are much more difficult where you are, because of the hurricanes. Good luck with the mortgage company and getting things done soon.

I feel your pain! ;) I've started going to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night...(read: between 1-2 AM ;) just so that I don't have to avoid running over small children and the elderly... ;)
(I like to shop quickly...I have a list, don't get in the way of The List. ;)
Not to mention having to stand in line for days... :)

Luckily...I'm a night person anyway... ;)

But I hope things get squared away for you soon! And have a wonderful Christmas or whatever mid-winter holiday you might celebrate! :D

I hate standing in line for that long but I suppose everything still is catastrophe conditions where you live. Things will take time to fix and get back to normal and I think you are so brave. I can't comprehend how it really must be living through what you have. I really hope you get your money soon so you can start really doing the repairs that you need.

*hugs you*
