Ten Ways to Tell if You Are Reading a Dreamflower Fic

1. Somehow, someway, all four of the main hobbits *will* get mentioned, no matter *who* it’s actually supposed to be about, and whether they are even supposed to be in the story.

2. Lots of asterisks.

3. Detailed descriptions of food.

4. Detailed descriptions of dances.

5. Detailed descriptions of music.

6. Embarrassing childhood stories.

7. Overuse of the words “regard” “alacrity” and “tear-ravaged”.

8. The healers use pendulums.

9. Frodo calls Merry “sprout”.

10. Pippin is playing the bagpipes.

You know, the first time I came across the Tookland pipes in one of your stories I thought they were actually Pan pipes, not bagpipes :D

Ah, yes, very difficult indeed! I'm not sure I can do it, and I'll probably miss something terribly obvious.

But I do especially love 1,3,4,5,6,9, and 10! (And 8 is fascinating)!

Well, you know, my Pip plays those, too! Legolas taught him in Lothlorien! He also plays the fiddle and the lap harp. But not the flute--that was Folco's instrument!

It was fun. But it's hard to think up things about one's *own* fic.

And apparently I like "alacrity" too. I'd probably overuse it even more if it weren't for the thesaurus feature in my document program, LOL!

LOL! I definitely agree with 1 ^_^ Though somehow I've managed to go through your stories without noticing 7 or 9 *is puzzled* Hmmm, I think this calls for a re-reading!

Just had an idea. Maybe as a follow-up to this meme, there should be a challenge to write a story containing none of these things :-P Well, as little of them as can be tolerated by the author, anyway ^_^

I realized how much of a trait this is of your stories while reading auntiemeesh's "Luster" and finding myself thinking " oh, Merry's in the story now; he'll know Pip's in trouble" -- and then realizing, "Wait a minute. That's a dreamflower universe characteristic!"
