Just woke up to a 5.6 earthquake. No damage for us that we can tell. Kind of surreal.

Okay, wow, looking at the time it happened and what I thought was either thunder or a passing dumptruck rattling things, I guess I felt it too, a little. Glad it wasn't any bigger than that.

Me too! The epicenter was about 30 miles due North of here, just above Pawnee, OK.

Yeah! Most of the time our earthquakes are in the 2 to 4 range, and that's about what they feel like.

I bet you did feel it--according to the news it was felt as far as Dallas/Ft. Worth to the South and to Kansas City to the East.

Yeah, I had just barely awakened and was making my way to the bathroom when it hit. It lasted a lot longer than they usually do, almost a minute, compared to the usual 5 to 10 seconds we are used to.

Yeah, we're fine! It's all due to all the oil fracking in this state.

I just can't believe they are allowing this, but we don't have a Congress that will go again oil interests. I even more can't believe they allow it on the west coast to help push along the unstable plates--just more evidence of how people are so very insane. It will be a miracle if we don't totally take down the planet before we outgrow our very awkward adolescence.

Goodness, yes! We had a tiny aftershock last night, but it only lasted about three seconds.

It was scary! The only "damage" was scaring the dog and cat, and a couple of photos on the piano tipped over. (Of course, if there are any hidden cracks anywhere, we won't know it.)
