The Last Debate

Kind of gloaty political stuff behind cut. If you like Trump, skip it.

This morning I woke up with that old grade school rhyme stuck in my head:

I'm rubber, you're glue!
Everything you say
Bounces offa me
And sticks to you!

(I think my subconscious has downgraded Trump's arrested development from 15 to 9.)

Honestly, how did the man EVER expect to get through a Presidential campaign without everything he's ever said and done being dug up and thrown at him?

Hilary has his number. He accuses her of "30 years of bad experience"; well, she's had at least that number of years of "bad experienceS". The GOP has been slinging mud and muck at her for all that time, and however she may feel about it personally, she shakes it off and keeps on going. She is one very TOUGH lady, and it is almost fun to watch her push the buttons on poor little old Donald who can't ever let a single slight go by and can never take any responsibility for any mistake.

I know there are a lot of people who dislike Hilary intensely. I'm not one of them. I like the fact that she doesn't quit, and that she has taken on causes in a very practical way. She keeps her dignity, but she still has a sense of humor. She doesn't expose her bruises and even when she's getting some digs in, she does it in a civil manner. Since she's a Methodist lady only about half-a-generation ahead of me, she doesn't have a "Potty mouth", and has learned other sorts of language to express herself. Yes, she's made mistakes. But none of them hold a candle to the ones her opponent has made, continues to make and will make if he should happen to win.

I don't think HC is perfect but I like her. And she's miles above Trump. I really don't like when people talk about the lesser of two evils. She doesn't have Bernie's halo but she's definitely better than Trump on all fronts. Also, isn't it bizarre that there are no Trump emails leaking?......

Actually I believe she cusses like a sailor in private. It's one of the things that endears her to me.

She is so ready to be President.

I feel like I know Hilary. She's only four years older than I am, and she was raised in the same ethical tradition I was.

Methodists have always had a strong belief in service to others and in social justice; knowing what we have in common I have no problem trusting her.

Perhaps she does. I occasionally use a salty word or two--usually with a lowered voice. And I don't seem to have the same problem with written or abbreviated cussing.

But she also seems to understand when it's inappropriate, unlike her opponent.

Thanks for the link! It's about time people begin to realize just how good she is at what she does.

BTW: interesting bit of trivia--the bully Biff from Back to the Future was based on Donald Trump.
