More computer woes

dreamflowerWell, my desktop is down again, and I'm using DH's laptop...
The other night I had just opened my email, when the computer froze up on me again, just like before.
There's good news and bad news: the good news is that the hard drive and the motherboard are apparently fried, which means that this is actually *covered by the warranty*! The bad news is, it may take a week or more to get fixed, and I don't have unlimited access to this computer, so my presence may be a bit spotty for a while. I will try to get in a few updates of "Chance Encounter" if I can.
While he was trying to do stuff to get my computer running (before we found out what was wrong) I worked on a poly clay figure of young Frodo. He's laying on the grass reading a book. I was very pleased with how his feet, hair and clothes came out. But the little book broke his thumbs off and squished his hands while he was baking, as I didn't have it propped up sufficiently. And his face is not quite as symetrical as I would have liked. Still, it didn't come out too badly.
In a few minutes, DH and I are going to Michael's to take an oil painting class. I've done acrylics and watercolor, but never oils, and my husband's never painted, but always wanted to try. We have a really good teacher, she's Bob Ross certified, and I'm really looking forward to it. Then we have two coupons for $15 good at a local casino's restaurants, so we'll go out to supper tonight too!
Tomorrow I work, and also teach a poly clay class. Poor me, I've got to make soap at the front of the store for a couple of hours, *sigh* I work so hard...*grin*

Date: 2005-01-29 10:16 pm (UTC)I drew all the time when I was little, but have never painted. I did do a clay class about twelve years ago and I did make a dish that "lived" quite long after, but eventually broke. :)
