Dorkiness meme
Feb. 4th, 2005 08:25 pmGacked from everybody:
List five fictional people -- from television, movies, books, whatever -- that you had a crush on as a child (or early teens). Then post this on your LiveJournal so other people can know what a dork you've always been.
Now this one had me almost stumped. I was so dorky that I only ever had one crush, and he was sort of a Real Person. But then I got to thinking, so here are three fictional people whom I fantasized I was their little sister, one that I fantasized I was the daughter (They weren't Mary Sues as I never wrote them down, but they would have been!) and the one Real Person I had a crush on.
1. The Cartwright Brothers (I got adopted.)
2. Hogan from Hogan's Heroes. (I missed my big brother, and smuggled myself to find him.)
3. Ilya Kuryakin (Basically same scenario as Hogan.)
4. Mr. Spock (adopted daughter)
5. Peter Tork (I had an *awful* crush on him, and I just knew that as soon as I saved his life he would fall madly in love with me. Much more realistic than my friend, who thought Davy Jones would fall in love with her as soon as he laid eyes on her.)
Now that's dorky!

Date: 2005-02-05 03:33 am (UTC)My five would be:
Johnny Depp (always and forever, he's had my heart since 21 Jumpstreet)
Chad Allen (the older son on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman)
Nelson (they were twin rock singers back in the day, identical twins, but I could tell them apart and I liked the taller one, not the shorter one lol)
John Schnieder from Dukes of Hazard, and he still looks good on Smallville.
The blond guy on CHiPS (I have a thing for blonds, can you tell? Except for Johnny, they're all blond!)
And two real life crushes:
Chad Lloyd (junior high crush and he was blond too)
And another Chad (I had a thing with Chads lol, this one was a boy from church, way older than me and totally out of my league as sadly all the guys I like are.)

Date: 2005-02-05 04:20 am (UTC)It wasn't so much that I wanted to be adopted, as that I wanted to be someone's *little* sister, instead of everyone's *oldest* sister. LOL!
The Cartwrights were the brothers on "Bonanza". They had three different mothers. It was safer to be adopted; all the Cartwrights wives and sweethearts seemed to die.
Hogan was played by Bob Crane on "Hogan's Heroes". It was a comedy set in a Nazi POW camp. (I know, it sounds dreadful, but it was a very funny show at the time.)
Ilya Kuryakin was on "The Man from UNCLE".
And I couldn't figure out how to be Spock's little sister, so I was his adopted mutant human telepath daughter. (I *told* you if I wrote them down they'd be Mary Sues.)
And Peter Tork was the adorable, clueless, sensitive, innocent one of The Monkees. (At least on the show.)I was head over heels for him.

Date: 2005-02-05 05:11 am (UTC)1. Chad Allen (both on Our House and Dr. Quinn) - I wrote a letter to him and in 3 months got a reply!! I was so excited, and led myself to believe it was real. Many many years later, I finally realised it was a print out. I think I still have that letter somewhere...
2. Wil Wheaton - affirmed *mild* trekkie of the NG, I thought he was a nice addition to the crew.
3. Richard Dean Anderson - better known as MacGyver! Love that man!
4. John Taylor - Duran Duran bassist. He really should be higher up, but well, he made the list! Everyone I knew LOVED Simon. I went straight for JT. RT was a *really* close second...
5. Jonathan Knight - New Kids On The Block. Yes, I was so totally a fangirl of the group. I went for the oldest of the group. He wasn't the best looking one, but damned if his sweetness didn't rope me in. I was so jealous of Tiffany... LOL!
Dreamflower listed Hogan from Hogan's Heros... and I liked him too, as well as Hawkeye Pierce from M.A.S.H. And gamgeefest listed Nelson (I liked Matthew - the one with the bangs), and John Schnieder from DoH. I liked Tom Wopat too... LOL!
My list of RL crushes are too many to list here... ;-)

Date: 2005-02-05 07:36 am (UTC)Ilya Kuryakin had that wonderful accent. I don't usually like the blonds, but he was different. They could keep Solo, I wanted Ilya.
In Star Trek, it was Sulu. Maybe because of that episode where he had his shirt off and was fencing. LOL
As to the Monkees, it was Davy. I like short men with accents. (Billy Boyd)

Date: 2005-02-05 08:53 am (UTC)I think it must have been the accent for me, as well. But as I said, I wanted to be his little sister, not his girlfriend. Could be because back then girlfriends never fared well. They lasted about one episode. A little sister could stick around.
Yes, now Sulu was terrific. I thought Chekhov was okay as a character, but I never thought of him as cute or sexy. TPTB back then thought that was what would appeal...funny...I've never heard of anyone with a crush on Chekhov...
Well, it was Peter with me, all the way. I think it was that childlike persona he had, just made me want to cuddle and protect him. Kind of like Pippin, come to think of it...

Date: 2005-02-05 03:10 pm (UTC)1. Robert Taylor as Lancelot and as Ivanhoe... I swear. I would do anything to end up the arms of such a hero! Iiiiiiiiiiiiiivanhooooooeeeeeeeee!!!
2. Andrew Ridgely (I was heartbroken when Wham ceased to exist. Everybody wanted George, I went for the silent guy with the dreamy eyes)
3. Bono Vox: I am still a huge fangirl of U2, but he had a lot of oppressed anger he got out on stage. I so admired him for that.. and he has a great voice
4. Bo, Dukes of Hazard - John Schneider. I surely wouldn't mind to drive around in General Lee with him!
5. Terence Hill (those gorgous blue eyes, that smile... *swoon*)

Date: 2005-02-06 08:33 am (UTC)Wil Wheaton, as a youngster, was the voice of 'Martin' in the Don Bluth movie The Secret of NIMH. Shannon Doherty was the voice of his sister, 'Teresa'.
Wil Wheaton was in the 1991 movie Toy Soldiers with Sean Astin and Lou Gossett, Jr. Unfortunately, he gets shot and killed. Jerry Orbach played his dad (mafia boss... at least I think that was what he was).
