MEFA Stuff

Well, this year's MEFAs are over, and they were a lot of fun to take part in, even though they were a good deal of work as well. When I originally started this year, I had a goal of 700 story reviews and 50 author reviews. Alas, Hurricane Katrina messed that up, by taking me offline for 3 weeks.

I ended up with doing 500 story reviews, respectable I guess, but not a single author review. 8-(

Most of the stories I nominated for others got some nice reviews by other people. I was pleased about that, for I didn't want to be the only one reviewing their stories.

And I got some lovely reviews as well.

Now it's all over till next year...

A Thank You Story

When I wrote my drabble "Lesson Learned: Spring Flood S.R. 1433", I had no idea of the fact that it would someday be so applicable to myself. But due to current events, I recently decided to expand on that drabble. This fic is a work of love and gratitude to a number of my very dear online hobbity friends, who worried so much, and cared so deeply during Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath…

I thank you all so very, very much. More than any material assistance, just the knowledge that you were caring and thinking of us made the world of difference.

I want to give extra special thanks to llinos, marigoldg, budgielover, pippinfan88, grey_wonderer,and anso_the_hobbit, for the reminders sent to me by snail mail and for the help and support over the phone when it finally came up. But to everyone on my flist, and to everyone who took part in hobbit_aid, my thanks as well.
