Yule fics

It had been my hope to post each day in December either a new Yule ficlet or a link to one of my older ones. But with the impending move, and probable loss of internet just before Christmas, I didn't see how I could.

But the wonderful and kind danachan came up with an idea. She has kindly offered to post for me for the days I am off-line! So I am going to be able to do it after all.

I plan to post these in chronological order for the time in which they occur, so I start off with the first one: a fic that is a gap-filler for The Hobbit:
