I'd just like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and comments to the post Dana made for me yesterday. My internet was out almost all day, and then after I got it restored, we had to take it off-line again later on so the DH could restore his router. (Tech support had told me to take the router off and hook the modem up directly; but he can't use his laptop without the router.)

Everything seems to be working fine today, though, so far. Weather's still stormy and nasty, but (*crosses fingers*) no more tornados. Yet.

The Tornado's just have to stay away from you! There, I said it. I saw footage of the damage done to the village of Greenville: it's astonishing that nature can do such a thing.

Welcome to springtime in Oklahoma. I'm glad you're okay. Did you get a lot of flooding there? We've had aproximately 5 inches of rain in the past 48 hours, with more expected tomorrow. Streets are flooding so badly, I almost couldn't get to work this morning, and I only live 10 minutes away!
I'm guessing someone gave you all the tornado safety tips about putting as many walls between you and the outside as possible and getting as low down as you can get. As unpredictable as tornadoes are, at least they don't last very long. I've lived in OK most of my life and I've never been hit directly by one(knock wood). Just keep in touch with the local tv and radio stations and usually you'll be alright.

After what I saw of Katrina, nothing shocks me. Nature is more powerful than anything we can imagine.

We didn't get much flooding here in Cushing at all, though I think we had as much rain, going by what accumulated in flowerpots and buckets. But I'm guessing the drainage here is a little better than it would be in a big city.

We did get the tornado safety tips--most of which we were familiar with. We don't have a storm cellar; I think only one family on this street does. I was amazed though to hear the sirens go off, and the local access take over the TV!

So glad it was just your Internet connection you lost, and only temporarily, with the tornadoes. It does seem like you've been unlucky in weather.

I'm so glad you all weathered the storm just fine! If ANYONE does not deserve bad weather---it's you guys, for certain. May you have sunshine for the rest of 2007. :)
