In the *KITCHEN*! I don't have to wash dishes in the bathtub! I got to cook supper myself tonight! Yaaaay!!!!!

(I don't think I actually made a post about it--just mentioned it in a few comments, but last Friday, our kitchen sinks not only plugged up, but when I turned on the garbage disposal to see if that would clear it out, it backed up into the washing machine overflow pipe and flooded the utility room. Plumber finally came Monday evening, and finished up with his work today!)

Thank goodness for home warranties! This repair would have been a few hundred dollars easily. But our warranty deductible is only $55.

Oh, gracious. I've had to do dishes in a bathroom sink before, and it's no fun! Glad your house is back in working order!

I'm glad you have your kitchen fixed.Last year the hoses to my dishwasher and washing machine leaked causing a flooded kitchen and being unable to use either till the repair man came after a week's wait!

I was frantic despite buying paper plates and a kind friend doing my washing for me!

Whoa, we had almost the same problem. Our laundry sink backed up into the kitchen sink (and over the counter, the cooktop and into some cabinets...). On a Saturday afternoon, when hubby and I were at my Dad's doing lawn work, of course. Thank goodness our daughter kept her cool and handled everything. (I told her it's a shame that at 17 she has enough experience with disaster to know what to do.) We called the plumber on Monday and he came and snaked it out. It cost about $135, but since I had visions of RotoRooter digging up the whole front lawn, I didn't mind paying that much.

Who would have thought you'd be writing about the simple pleasure of being able to wash up normally *grin*
