I've seen this from several of my friends.

1. Which is your favorite fic?
My favorite long fic is A New Reckoning
My favorite short fic is Neither Have I Wings to Fly

2. Which is your best-received fic?
A New Reckoning seems to be a favorite among my readers as well. At least, I am often told that in comments.

3. Which is your worst-received fic?
I honestly don’t know. I have a few that I feel should have been read more, and was disappointed that they did not get more comments, but I never know if that’s because few people liked them or just an accident of timing or other factors.

I don’t presume to try and guess why a fic doesn’t get more reviews than another, although I’d be lying if I said that sometimes I wish one had gotten more.

I’ve never had a fic that someone said they *disliked* or flamed or anything like that.

4. Which is your angsty-est fic?
Depends, I suppose, on what you mean by angst. Cousin Calla and Reaping both have character deaths in them, which is pretty angsty.

But I think that a lot of my shorter fics dealing with other sorts of angst are sadder. I don’t know which of them would be the saddest.

But if you are just speaking of character suffering, I’d have to say On Amon Sûl and Bound, in which Frodo is suffering canonically inflicted pain and fear are pretty angsty.
.
5. Which is your funniest fic?
Pippin‘s Pack of Pickled Pipers or maybe A Sight to Remember They both still make me giggle.

6. Smuttiest?
Smut? ME?!?! *Bwhahahahahahahahahah!!!!* OK, let’s get real. The smuttiest I’ve ever done has been to imply that married hobbits have “tender interludes” that could result in wee hobbits, and to hint that certain tweenage hobbits might *rarely* anticipate their “marital rights” before the wedding.

I have NO talent for smut!

7. Fluffiest?
Probably Hide and Seek or Pippin‘s Dumpling or maybe Just Looking or... Actually, I’ve written an *awful lot* of fluff. It’s a weakness of mine.

*poof*poof*flaps hand at floating fluff*waves at [livejournal.com profile] shirebound "thanks for the 'Nice 'n' Fluffy'*

8. Have you ever made someone cry with your fic?
I have been told that in comments. I’ve made myself tear up with a couple of my own stories, so I don’t doubt it.

9. Which fanfic frustrates you the most?
The Road to Edoras The closer I get to the end, the less the characters want to cooperate. I have bits and pieces all the way to the end, but I’m having a dickens of a time filling it all in.

10. Which fic was the most fun to write?
Miss Dora Baggins‘ Book of Manners No plot, just Aunt Dora rambling on in her own Inimitable Style about Life in the Shire and Being Proper.

11. Which of the OCs you created is your favorite?
I’d say it’s a toss-up between Menelcar the Minstrel from The Life of a Bard and Chance Encounter or Rusty Cotton, Sam’s tomboy cousin and Pippin’s occasional partner in crime in Pippin the Protector and A Sight to Remember

12. Are you better at oneshot or multipart?
Probably oneshots. I’ve written a lot more of them, and I generally know where I‘m going with them. Drabbles are interesting to me, but I think my best stories are oneshot vignettes or medium-length stories.

I enjoy writing the long multi-chapter ones too, though. However, I sometimes have to push myself when they get closer to the end.

13. Which character portrayal do you think is your best?

Well, as much as I love Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Sam, I have to say that I think I do the best job of capturing Bilbo’s personality. I am usually satisfied with how he turns out, and I have had a lot of people tell me they like my Bilbo.

14. What character is the most difficult to portray?
Not the canon characters, because either I succeed in portraying them close to the way JRRT did, or I don’t. I’ve absorbed my ideas of them over decades of osmosis, so to speak.

But my OC villains are a bit different. Especially hobbit-villains, since I don’t see hobbits as generally villainous or sinister. I know they existed-- we had Lotho and Sandyman and Lobelia and Lalia as examples to show there were exceptions to the generally hobbity niceness. But when I write hobbit OCs being wicked, I always feel unsettled. They are needful for plot purposes, and I can’t say they are OOC, because they are “my” characters, but as *hobbits* I feel they are OOC. If you know what I mean.

Anyway, I always fear being Over The Top with the bad guys.

And I’m adding a new question to the meme:

15. Any fic you wish you had not written or that you wish you had written differently?
I will always wish that I had not killed off poor Folco Boffin. *sigh* But I couldn’t see any way around it and still do what I needed to do with the character of Freddie Bolger.
