I'm very worried about Sugar. She's listless and off her feed, although she is still drinking water. I'm hoping it's just the weather. We'll keep the house cool today, and I will be keeping an eye on her.

Good news: our son has found his own place and moved into it! So I finally have my sewing room back! I'm glad we were able to have him here with us when he needed us, but it had been ten months, and this house is just too small for 3 adults. His new place is a little converted garage guesthouse, and he's got a good rent on it, and it's close enough that he can still come over here for meals from time to time, and do his laundry. So there's the advantage of having him close by as well as the advantage of not having him under the same roof.

Also: not to speak too soon, but (*knocks on wood*) I think we may be winning the battle with the ants...

Now that the MEFA nominations are over, I hope to get some fic-writing done!

That's wonderful news about your son. Your house will feel so much more spacious now!

I know that you must be so worried about Sugar! I already fret about every tiny change in Pippin's behavior or energy level. I hope everything is just fine and that your doggie returns to full health and spirits today.

We have constant ant problems too. As soon as the weather warms, they start streaming into the house. Because we're eco-nuts, we try not to use chemical insecticides, so it's been an interesting spring so far! I found that a line of Vaseline around the areas where they're entering stops them from coming in. Of course, they find new entry points soon enough. I'm in the process of tracking down the source of our latest invasion. The other day, I found about a dozen ants had smothered themselves inside of our honey jar. So now, whenever we use honey, we must first assure that there are no little ant corpses in it. Ugh.

So good luck winning the battle (even if we humans will never win the war! ;) and congrats on having your sewing room back! :) I'll send happy thoughts that Sugar turns out to be okay too.

We're about to LOSE some space as our daughter moves back after graduating college. She now needs to find a job (good luck with THAT here!) and will probably be saving her money for graduate school, though she also wants to travel so I don't know about how soon the grad school will happen.

I hope Sugar is ok. And good luck with ants - I HATE ant invasions!

She really felt bad most of the morning, but this afternoon she perked up a littl an ate a milk bone. And after the DH got home, she perked up a little more and was able to eat her supper. I'm hoping whatever it was has mostly passed.

And yes, it will feel much more spacious! It's so good to get my sewing room back!

The DS has been here for ten months, which is six months longer than he originally planned to be. And his little place has a lot of potential; the landlady's given him leave to fix it up as he wishes.

Sugar's feeling a little better tonight. She was finally able to eat.

She's feeling better now, so I am hoping the worst is over.

Yes, it's very nice to go in there now and be able to reach my sewing maching, and my bookcases!

She seems to be a little better this evening. She ate her supper and kept it down, and even did a little begging at suppertime.

And yes, all three of us are breathing a sigh of relief that he has his own space now, I think!

Sugar's our dog. She's not young anymore, and she was outside a lot with us over the weekend. But she seems to be feeling a little better now.

If we were still in the home where he grew up, it would not have been a problem-- we had 3 bathrooms there and plenty of space. Here's different. One bathroom between 3 adults is not a good situation.

I hope your daughter finds a good job soon-- you know, they call this generation the "boomerang" generation...LOL!

If our fuzzy family members could just tell us what's wrong with them (or rather, tell us in a way that we humans understand) so we knew how to help them feel better again!
