The Gate to Everywhere by Dreamflower
An AU LotR/Narnia crossover: in Fourth Age Gondor, a mysterious Gate is found in the garden behind the Citadel that leads to adventure...(2011 LotR GenFic Big Bang)
This is a crossover between my "Eucatastrophe-universe AU" and Narnia.

My beautiful banner and all of the other art was made by Armariel.

Date: 2011-08-05 01:54 am (UTC)My dear friend, your story is WONDERFUL! I wish you could publish it "for real". This blending of Narnia and Middle-earth is a marvel. I especially love the quiet, gentle scenes such as these:
"Belovèd, all tasks are dangerous in one way or another; yet this one is not so perilous or so onerous as the one which you undertook.
Frodo swallowed, met the eyes once more, and nodded. "I trust you," he said simply.
Would you please pass along my compliments to your artist, as well? She did a marvelous job on the faces of our young heroes, as well as dear Frodo and Gandalf. I'm so happy to finally have time to read this lovely tale.
(Are any of the other BigBang stories... hobbity? I have so little time to read these days, sadly.)

Date: 2011-08-06 03:50 pm (UTC)Narnia and Middle-earth have always seemed to me to be an almost natural combination, what with the deep friendship of their creators, and the fact that there is such easy access to Narnia from other worlds!
I'll most certainly direct Armariel's attention to your compliments! I was thrilled with her work; I could not believe how perfectly her Elliniel looked-- she could easily have been Arwen's daughter. And Elemir and Morwen really did look like Eowyn's sons as well. The hobbits were delightful. She is so talented!
As to the other stories, I've barely had a chance myself to read them, but as to "hobbity-ness", I think you would get a huge kick out of Celeritas' story--
Vairë Was a Weaver, or, Real Men Wear Corsets (a farce) by Celeritas
I giggled, chuckled and LOL'd my way through it! It's the Fellowship in Minas Tirith, and when Arwen gets a rather mischievous idea, Merry and Pippin are only too ready to help her with it, in hopes of cheering Frodo up. (It looks longer than it is. Some of the "chapters" are only about a paragraph long-- which makes it even funnier!)
I think a few of the other stories have hobbits-- I know at least one is a Fellowship AU-- but I haven't had time to read it yet.
