As a preliminary to "Back to Middle-earth Month" (coming up in March), which will be a Bingo challenge I've posted a tale over at b2mem:

How, you might wonder, did such a thing as BINGO find its way to Middle-earth? Perhaps the better question is, how did BINGO find its way to us from Middle-earth? Here is recounted the little known story of how the game was created by Bilbo's Uncle Bingo Baggins!

If I were doing this, I know how I'd go. Did you know that Frodo's original name (in early drafts) is Bingo Baggins? Merry's is Marmaduke, which is almost as bad. Only Sam kept the same name throughout.

Yes, I think more people are aware of Frodo's original name than are aware that JRRT actually did use the name for another hobbit. Bilbo's Baggins uncles get little mention in fanfic, but Bungo had two younger brothers, Longo (who was Lotho's grandfather) and Bingo, who married a Chubb. Bilbo also had two sisters, Belba and Linda.

I'm very glad Frodo's name was changed and that Merry did not stay Marmaduke. Pippin was briefly Frodo at one point! You are right that only Sam was Sam the whole time!
