Last night I was so sick.

TMI: (for grossness)

Last night after supper, it started out with an old-fashioned belly-ache; then I got the runs, which I had all night long in spite of taking OTC Imodium. I kept burping these horrible sulfuric tasting belches, and my stomach was making awful growly noises, but in spite of feeling nauseous as heck, I never threw up. (I think if I had, I might have felt better.) I don't think it was anything I ate. *sigh* I guess it's a bug of some sort. The DH said I had a temp, so I took some Tylenol, and got a little sleep. The runs have somewhat tapered off this morning, though not gone. But I haven't felt like eating anything at all.

Naturally I had to call in to work today. I'm going to force myself to eat something bland--maybe some plain toast and a glass of milk, otherwise I'll get a headache.  Then I may try to sleep a little more. Wish I felt up to writing or something...

Oh, poor you! *hugs gently* *pours comforting cup of tea* I can imagine how wretched you're feeling. I hope it's going away soon and you will feel much better!

*hugs* I hope you will soon be better. *hugs*

But I don't advise milk - it can make things even worse. Tea is better idea. ;)

*gentle, soothing snugs, ginger tea, delicate chicken broth, and Elrond to look after you...or would you rather have hobbitses?* :)

She's right. Milk can exacerbate diarrhea and other tummy troubles. Plain toast and a cuppa tea? The tannin in it might help soothe your upset tummy....

Out of curiosity, why don't you think it was anything you ate? Sure sounds like food poisoning to me, in particular those sulfurous belches. I never get those with a garden-variety gastrointestinal virus. But food poisoning? Yep.

BUT! Sounds like it is, uh, passing. Feel better soon!

Chicken soup sounds great. One of my favorite food. :) And it's great for tummy problems.

Suggestion: milk's not easy to digest and may make the runs worse. Toast is OK, but with GI stuff, I'd steer clear of the milk.

I hope you are completely well again!
Sometimes it takes a while to recover from that sort of thing.
