Good news (I think)

dreamflowerAfter four hours on the phone with various people, my DH is on the road to getting my computer fixed. He's been so sweet about all this--letting me use his laptop, and not getting mad at me for what happened. (Actually, I'm only guessing it's my fault, I really don't know how it happened.)
Good news: Our stuff is still in there--stories, pics, etc. It's not gone! *Squee!*
Bad news: We can't access it.
News news: The recovery disk that everyone has been telling us for four days does not exist *does* in fact exist. We can't order it until tomorrow, as we have to go buy a credit card. (We only use the pre-paid sort). And it will take four to five days to arrive.
So, keeping fingers crossed!
