1. calligraphy:
   I've always enjoyed letters, just letters, in and of themselves. I think I was overjoyed when I was allowed to learn cursive handwriting in third grade, and throughout high school, I played with different styles. But in about '89, when I joined the SCA, I began to get serious about it and teach myself *real* calligraphy. It still remains my favorite art-form to work in. I've experimented with all sorts of hands, and I love to teach it as well.
2. celtic music:
   I loved Celtic before Celtic was cool, LOL! Used to always listen to "Thistle and Shamrock" on PRN; I'd tape the shows on cassetted, since you couldn't find Celtic music in the stores. I adore listening to bagpipes, and a cailidh just makes me squee.
3. fanfiction:
   Major, major interest! I've been reading it for nearly two years now, and writing for more than a year and a half. JRRT, exclusively, mostly LotR/The Hobbit. Of course the main benefit is more stories of Middle-earth, more hobbits, more gaps filled. But I also love the two-way communication of fanfic. You don't get that with traditional publications.

6. linea embroidery:
   I like a lot of different sorts of needlework, but I was introduced to this last year at work, and love the simplicity of it. It's just outline embroidery, using either running stitch or backstitch, and it goes *fast*. Loads of fun.
7. lotr fanfiction:
   The best reading material after the Master himself. More hobbits. More Elves. More of the Fellowship. Gaps filled. Questions answered.
   I love it.
8. meridies:
   Up until last weekend, my SCA Kingdom. Now it's Gleann Abhainnn. But I always loved being a Meridian, and will always have a soft spot for the mother kingdom.

   Pippin. Peregrin Took, youngest child and only son of Paladin Took, Thain of the Shire. Most importantly, beloved younger cousin of Frodo Baggins and Meriadoc Brandybuck.
