1 Take the lyrics to a favorite song.
2 Go to Google Language Tools and translate the lyrics into German; then from German to French; and finally from French back into English.
3 Post the results verbatim.
4 Invite your friends to guess the song based on the newly mangled lyrics.
These two are fun and fairly simple:
sing hey! for the bath at the end of the day which washes far inert mud!
Loon it is to which does not sing: ',
O! Hot water is a splendid thing!
O! The Candy is the clay of the rain falling
and the brook which jumps of the hills on the level;
but if improve to rain, or
Plaetschernstroeme is the hot water which smokes and absorbs!
O! Water cold which we pour to the bottom indeed with the need a faded throat and can be happy;
but if improve are the beer,
if drink which we hot miss to the bottom the versed back and of water!
O! Water is that jumps on a height in a white of well under the sky suitably;
but never made the clay of well
which as syringes hot water with my feet is so soft!
And:
Ho! Tom Bombadil, Tom Bombadillo!
By water, wood and hills, rake up now and are understood
by Schilf and the pasture, by fires, the sun and the moon,!
From Tom Bombadil come, because our need is narrow for us!
* old Tom Bombadil a merry vehicle,
luminous blue its coating, and its to charge yellow.
None has it indeed already him, because of Tom verfangen
who he is the Master: *
its Songs strong Songs and its fast foot.
And this one just for fun:
The local group of rocks the road tests it to the bottom strongly learning,
serenade Wochenendensquire which precisely left to mow its Song its lawns.
Another pleasant undercrust Sunday, the one coal that to burn everywhere,
series of the houses which are those all the same ones and none is seemed to interest.
If you see gray who it is current day to trust -, because its Pinks in flowering are,
and Mr Green him serene, is thus, has to him a television apparatus in each sector.
Another pleasant undercrust one Sunday, in the country of symbol of statute,
others complains here more, such as the hard life is and includes/understands anybody.
Objectives of comfort of creature, require only deaf to them my heart,
me a modification of the landscape! My thoughts which all seem,
faraway in the places to flee me, would like another pleasant
do not lower indeed Sunday to see.
Another pleasant undercrust one Sunday.
This could be addictive!

Date: 2005-11-22 06:18 pm (UTC)And I looked at the languages in the Language Tools. I can't believe that they have "Elmer Fudd" and "Klingon" but they don't have "Sindarin" "Quenyan" "Adunaic" "Rohirric" or "Westron".

Date: 2005-11-23 12:22 am (UTC)You know, my co-worker and I spent about an hour the other day on AltaVista's Babel Fish doing the same thing, except with snippets from a smutty novel. It's pretty amazing how drastic the changes are after just 2 translations!
