I have just posted a new fic to "Dreamflower's Mathoms" on Stories of Arda. It's something rare for me: Frodo h/c (I usually try to give poor Frodo a break.) But it was a request, and I have finally delivered.

You should write more Frodo h/c. . .this is one of the most delightful pieces I've ever read in the subgenre!!!

I particularly love Legolas thinking to not only make willow bark tea, but to cut up some fruit for his little companion. . .SO sweet. . . . And the cuddling! And singing!

Oh my! That is *such* a compliment coming from *you*!

Legolas just does not get enough turns to take care of the hobbits, IMHO, so from time to time I give him the privilege.

As for Frodo, well, I tend to prefer to write him as the *caregiver* most of the time--he suffers so much in canon, that I try to give him a break. But every once in a while I do a bit of it. Most of my Frodo h/c is emotional rather than physical, and is usually confined to canon situations, or, rarely enough, pre-Quest, when Merry is his usual comforter. This *is* an unusual one for me, and I am so very gratified that you liked it!

I read Comfort Between Friends, and it's lovely, with such tender companionship between hobbit and elf. Beautifully written.

This is lovely, my dear! You write all of your characters and their relationships so well. I especially liked Gandalf looking in and, upon seeing Legolas singing to Frodo, knowing that Frodo was being well tended.

Were that I could borrow Legolas when I have a headache. Is the fruit of any particular benefit or just in case Frodo were hungy?

I think because Legolas knew that Frodo needed to eat something--hobbit metabolism, and all--but figured something light, sweet, cool and juicy would have more appeal than something hot and heavy. (This is, after all, just a few days after Midsummer.)

Reviewing here because I'm too lazy to sign in to SoA... but I have to say I LOVE how Legolas so gently and easily soothes Frodo... wow, you may say you don't write it often, but you're so GOOD at it. The willow bark, the fruit, the soft lap... sagdggggggdxsd!!!!

I personally write Frodo h/c because he had it so rough in canon. I like to see him get the TLC he deserves that I feel Tolkien rather skimmed over.
