In honor of Merry Monday, here's a little something.
Young Merry was a diligent correspondant:

DEAR FRODO...

On my late review:

Speaking of misspellings... I already discovered on in my review. Grammar's not our friend, precioussss.

I never thought about the Anduin separating them. Interesting thought.

I would love to listen to the song you mentioned. It sounds indeed very fitting.

Lovely, lovely. *wipes away tear* I like the way you set this at the time of Frodo's leaving. That makes it all the more poignant. I have always thought of them more as brothers than cousins. How hard it must have been for Merry to say good-bye.

What a neat idea! I liked it! I especially liked this:

"Your room is very emtey empty. It makes loud noises now when I am in there..."

(Sorry I can't recreate the strike-out...) This is just a great description--not only the physical aspects of of the empty room, but the emotional ones as well. And the simplicity of it, in Child Merry's syntax, makes it all the more powerful. I enjoyed reading this very much!

What a treasure trove of story ideas Frodo must have left in that box! :)

That was absolutely lovely and bittersweet - just loved it.
