Home, seated, and not in a moving car...

I must be getting old when a five hour drive feels like forever...

Back from the visit to my cousin (actually got to see her, and her sister as well, so it was two cousins, LOL!) which went nicely. As my older cousin said, it was nice to have us visit, and not for a funeral. We caught up on a lot of things, and it was really good to see them.

The only bad part was, we stayed in a motel, and I think that the mattress was actually a marble slab or something. I could barely move when I got up this morning.

I see loads of fics and other cool stuff's been posted the last 24 hours, so I'm off to skim my flist and I'll try to catch up on commenting tomorrow...

I swear I'm going to start taking the airbed with me when I go on car trips. I can always make it the right degree of softness for me in spite of the hotels. *blows raspberry at mattress manufacturers*

I did sleep well in my own bed. I'm used to motel beds being harder than my own--but I've never encountered one like *that* before!

I'm glad you had a nice time. No bed is better than your own though, I feel that most beds are too hard actually, especially in hotels and such.

Maybe it helps to take a warm bath?

I know it's silly, but I'm still amazed by distances people can travel and still be in the same country, LOL. It would only take 3 hours or so to reach the north of our country and if I were to drive south I would be well into France after 5 hours *snort*

Well, I was still in the same country, but another state--we crossed over the bottom of Alabama to get into Florida. That was driving east. But if we drove five hours north, we'd still be in Mississippi. Many of the states are as large or larger, than some European countries. It's been a long time--I was, oh, ten years old--but it used to take at least two, maybe three days, to go across Texas at its widest point. I am quite sure though that with the new interstate system now it would probably only take about ten hours.
