STILL sick!

In fact, I went to the doctor today. It's flu (had the swab; I hate things stuck up my nose) and she said there's congestion in my lower lungs bordering on pneumonia. Eep.
I am off work and grounded until the 23rd, which will interfere dreadfully with last minute Christmas stuff, and of course it's just as well we had not bought our tickets for The Hobbit:BO5A, because I could not have gone.
I'm hacking, coughing and wheezing and sore. I've spent three days in my recliner with the cat mainlining BtVS (up to the end of Season 6. What an intense season!) I can start Season 7 tomorrow, which I've never seen before. (And I'd also missed several episodes of 6, too, but now I've seen them.)
I am very much hoping I will feel like puttering around the house a little, or at least have enough focus to do a little needlework or something. I also need to get more done on my Yule exchange fic. I've got quite a lot plotted out in my head--just need to type it out and add it to what I already have.)
Anyhow, I've been a little sporadic in my comments, so I guess you will know why now.

Date: 2014-12-18 12:30 pm (UTC)If you like any of the following, I've always found them very useful to give back a little energy when battling a virus: Thai curry or any food as hot as one could stand, fresh ginger tea (peel and slice a piece of ginger the length of your thumb, boil in 4 cups of water (1 litre) for about 10min, and put in thermos. Drink a cup with a spoonful of your favourite sweetener as often as you like. Honey is good for giving back energy, too.
I've been told chicken broth works wonders, too, though haven't tried it for obvious reasons.

Date: 2014-12-20 03:46 am (UTC)However, I do think you're approaching your malady in the best way possible--watching Buffy with a cat snuggled up to you. However, Season 6? Yikes. That's some pretty heavy going.
Just a heads up. Season 7 feels very different. And I confess -- with Tara gone, I just didn't warm to Season 7. I know many people liked it, but I adored Tara. However, it is a whole new fresh slate and I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on it if you should choose to share them.
