Of course he was most famous as Mr. Spock, but he played many really good roles.

I loved him as Paris in Mission Impossible. This scene is fun to watch, as he is acting with Mark Lennard who played his father Sarek in ST.

He was in a lot of Westerns. Usually (though not always) he played Native Americans or Mexican Americans. I saw this episode of Gunsmoke not too long ago.

And here are some cameos:

The Simpsons...

The Big Bang theory...

Here he is, stumping the panel on What's My Line?

And who can forget his singing career. Here's his biggest hit! ;)

Finally, I came across this tonight, in which he speaks of his Yiddish background and his childhood:

Thank you! This is just what I need right now.

ETA: Oh my, that last one! I didn't know he was Jewish and it sounds like from the same general area as my mother's family. Wow, that was a revelation and it was so lovely to hear him speak Yiddish :-)

Such wonderful links! I watched and enjoyed them all. I still can't believe he's gone. I was a Trek fan long before i discovered LOTR. It was my first, big fandom. So sad to know he's gone.

I look forward to enjoying these today. I had forgotten all about his role as Paris in Mission Impossible!

I just listened to the Yiddish video, and can't wait to share it with Shiremom. She still remembers quite a bit of Yiddish from her childhood.

Shiremom loved that Yiddish video so much she watched it twice. And then watched another one in the same link. Thank you again!

I'm so glad you put this collection together. The Yiddish clips were particularly fascinating and wonderful. When Leonard discussed the Vulcan salute, and laughed over how people were blessing each other without even knowing it-- it was so warm and wonderful, it made me cry.

I remember tearing through all I could find on Nimoy on YouTube a while back, and viewed his MI episodes. I read about how the character of Paris simply couldn't interest him. After Spock, who was such a rich character to develop and explore, Paris simply had his role and did his task, and had no backstory at all. After Spock, it was too frustrating, so his MI stint was short.

Anyway, thanks for posting these terrific clips. LLAP, Dreamflower. :)

What a wonderful tribute to Leonard Nimoy! Loved all the clips, even the Big Bang Theory (I am not a fan of that show), but especially the video from the Wexler Oral History Project.
