dreamflower: gandalf at bag end (bag end 2 by <lj user="danae_b">)

Well, a lot of people on my flist have been doing this, so of course, I have to do it, too!
[livejournal.com profile] baranduin added a question, so I will too!

1. Do you live a house, a condo, or some kind of apartment?
House

2. Do you rent or own?
Own

3. What’s one thing that you would change about it if you could?
Add a little more square footage to each room, a second bathroom, and remodel the kitchen. Only the last one may happen one day, unless we either win Publisher's Clearing House or the lottery.

4. Would you like to move?
NO! Moving is a lot of hard work, stressful and painful and things get broken or lost. Besides we are finally getting to get the garden the way we want it, and you can't move gardens.

5. Do you read the answers of others before answering yourself?
Yes, most of the time.

6. How do you eat Oreos?
Fill a glass with ice cold milk. Crush 2 or 3 Double Stuffed Oreos into it. When they have mostly sunk to the bottom, fish them out with an ice tea spoon and enjoy! (Regular Oreos work too, but I like the double stuffed best.)

And here is MY question:
7: What household chore do you actually enjoy doing?
Folding laundry. There is something soothing in reducing a pile of assorted items into orderly squares and rectangles and rolls that will fit nicely into drawers and cupboards. I am very particular about the way certain things are folded; it's the one chore my DH doesn't do (except in an emergency) because he knows I will re-do it. Since I've been sick, he's caught up all the dirty laundry, but now I have a pile of clean I haven't been able to finish yet. Maybe tomorrow. I love folding napkins...and rolling up washcloths...and using that new method of folding T-shirts so they will stand up in the drawer...

I loath any kind of housework but you make laundry folding quite relaxing. I just hang everything.

Oreos... I try NOT to eat them these days, but I like regular Oreos crumbled up in vanilla ice cream, or double-stuff ones by themselves. Not a fan of soggy things, so I rarely dip them in milk. In ice cream, they stay crunchy.

Chores... hmm, I don't mind laundry, but since we renovated the kitchen, I actually enjoy cleaning it up because it actually looks nice when it's done, unlike the cluttered old kitchen that never really looked nice even when it clean.

And here's how picky I am about my Oreos maintaining their crunch: I don't buy the cookies & cream variety of ice cream. I have to buy Oreos and vanilla ice cream separate and mix it myself! Plus mixing them myself means the Oreo cream stays a little chunky and discrete from the ice cream.

Ugh. Now I want some. Badly. *looks at scale and exerts willpower*

I am a fairly old-fashioned Oreo eater. I separate the two cookies, scrape off the filling with my teeth and eat it first, then follow with the two cookie halfs. I don't dunk because I'm usually eating them with hot tea and that disintegrates the cookie quite quickly.

I actually enjoy sweeping and washing my kitchen floor. Now that I have the laminate, it's a pleasure and doesn't take long at all. I usually do it quickly on Sunday mornings after breakfast and the morning dishes have been washed and set to dry.

There's a way to fold t-shirts so that they'll stand on end? This is the first I've heard of such a thing.

What a fun method of folding. She obviously enjoys working in thirds LOL. I do like the way the ends show, though. It should be possible to tell what design each shirt has on the front that way. Thanks for passing it on to me :-)

I wish I could send you my laundry. I am awful at folding and hang as many items as I can. I look forward to your spring and summer garden photos. : )
