7:15AM--Got up and saw the DH off to work; I'd packed his lunch the night before, so he'd let me sleep in a little. After he left I got something to eat; promptly spilled my milk all over the counter. I hope that's not a sign for the rest of the day.
After I finished my bagel and cream cheese, I read and commented on some fics. It's Back-to-Middle-earth month on
b2mem, and the stories have been springing up like mushrooms, so I haven't had a chance to read more than a handful. I love March. So MANY stories for LotR, The Hobbit and The Silmarillion!
9:30--I have to leave a little early to go by the bank. The DH's paycheck for his part-time job came in the mail yesterday, but very late in the day. The bank closes at noon, so I can't go after work. (Well, that didn't work; line too long at the bank, had to go on to work without making the deposit. Oh well, we'll get it done on Monday.)
10AM-2PM--Clocked in. Informed that now we have to wear hats in the market. Market has always been exempt from wearing the hats (ugly pink and blue baseball caps) they have to wear back in the restaurant and fountain area. Not anymore. I get a hat; it looks stupid on me, obstructs my vision and feels like its going to fall off any moment. *sigh* My co-workers today were J. and L.; L. is a long-time employee, J. is new. He's very pleasant and soft-spoken, and so far I like him. He's learning the ropes pretty quickly. No truck today, but there is a lot of stock to be put out. Pretty much a steady stream of customers, so the two of them leave the register to me while they work on getting stuff out so there will be room when the truck comes tomorrow.
2PM--Clocked out, picked up a few groceries, and left the store. Went from there to Dollar General. The DH had asked me to pick up a can of Ant Spray as he noticed ants in the bathroom yesterday (they have a tendency to get in through the plumbing in the spring), and I grabbed a couple of other things we needed, and some that we didn't (they had caramel flavored Bugles!).
2:45--Got home, let the dog out, put away the groceries and stuff. Let the dog back in and changed out of my work clothes. Got a sandwich for my lunch (leftover meat loaf). Checked my email on my iPad, and answered a couple. Reclined in my chair, turned on the TV and picked up my crocheting. (I'm working on a top done in double strands of bedspread cotton). I was also trying to watch some You Tube how-to videos on knitting and crocheting. Fell asleep pretty quickly, however; I was a lot more tired than I realized. I didn't get very far on my top; I don't know if it was just me being too tired, or if there is actually something wrong with the pattern instructions.
5:48--The DH called and said he was on the way home from work, so he'll be home in a couple of hours. Came over to the desktop and made my daily Lent post, and typed up my notes for today so far.
After he called I tidied up the kitchen and threw together a simple supper (a hamburger and pasta casserole, basically a homemade version of Hamburger Helper) that I could throw in the oven to heat up when he got home.
He got home around 8, and I heated the casserole up while he got out of his scrubs. Then we had supper and watched "Texas Flip and Move", (if you haven't seen it, and you like house shows, it's really fun. Three family businesses of house flippers, who buy houses that have to be moved--they flip them and then sell them at auction for a fraction of what a home with property would go for.) All of them have different styles of doing things and there are a lot of problems that go with flipping houses that have to be moved, which they often overcome with clever ideas. My favorite team are the Snow sisters.
We cleaned up the kitchen, and I prepared his lunch so we could pack it in the morning.
Then we went around and changed the clocks for the time change tomorrow, and now I'm finishing up these notes before we go to bed in a few minutes. (It's currently 9:25PM but this time tomorrow it will be 10:25.)

Date: 2016-03-13 09:14 pm (UTC)The DH loves my meatloaf, and nearly always it's eaten up in no time if I don't make two.
(Really, years ago when we still lived in Mississippi, we were planning an outing with a picnic. So the night before, I made a meatloaf so we could have the sandwiches on our picnic. The DH finished up the ENTIRE meatloaf that evening and there was none left for the next day. So from then on, I have made two. He says my meat loaf is better than his mother's was; and she was a DARN good cook!)
