Sorry to be posting this so late, but this is the first chance I've had to type up my notes. Behind cut for length and pics:
Woke up to the horrible news out of Orlando. We watched the coverage on ABC until it was time to get ready for church.
10:45--Left for church. I found the service greatly comforting. This was our opening prayer:
Eternal Light, shine into our hearts.
Eternal Goodness, deliver us from evil.
Eternal Power, be our support.
Eternal Wisdom, scatter the darkness of our ignorance.
Eternal Pity, have mercy upon us,
That with all our heart and mind and soul and strength we may seek your face and be brought by your infinite mercy to your holy presence, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
I thought it was very appropriate.
We sang several of my favorite hymns, including "I Need Thee Every Hour". The sermon was on "Envy", and really made me think about how that particular sin is at the root of so many of the world's troubles.
On the way home, we stopped at Dollar General to pick up a couple of things we needed, Diet Coke, dog food, cat food and paper towels.
12:30--Got home and changed clothes. I made chicken sandwiches for lunch, and we watched some videos on YouTube while we ate, mostly "how to" vids on bottle cutting, for the DH's new hobby. After lunch we kind of dozed off in our chairs for a while.
Around 2ish, we woke up, and decided to put out our Fourth of July decorations. Here's a couple of pics. I took the pics after the sun went down.

Not quite as many decorations as previous years. Some of our banners were too faded or worn to use this year.
Came back in around 3:30, and watched some more coverage from Orlando. Sadly riveting.
5PM--Went to make supper. We decided to have "breakfast for supper" so I made pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. I made a LOT of pancakes so there will be leftovers during the week.
7PM--Finished supper and cleaned up the kitchen. Can't leave the dishes to sit until bedtime anymore, as we are having a problem with ants. Then we went to watch some TV, and found the Tonys were on. We had not seen those in years, so we decided to watch them. The DH went to bed before they were over, but I finished watching them before I turned in when they were over.
Couldn't fall asleep, so I read some Harry Potter fanfic on my iPad until a little after midnight, turned off the light and went to sleep eventually.

Date: 2016-06-17 05:55 am (UTC)I usually just take notes throughout the day on the twelfth, and post on the thirteenth; but sometimes I'm a bit later getting them typed up and posted.
