Donald Trump's definition of a beautiful sight...

Most people think of a beautiful sight as a lovely sunset, or babies or rainbows or people hugging one another. Not Donald Trump.

I thought that the things Donald Trump was saying on various topics of importance could not get any more disgusting. I was wrong.

First of all, someone WAS armed: a security guard for the club. And he took out his gun and exchanged fire with the killer, but he obviously did not get the guy "BOOM! In the center of his head!" And if anyone else had a gun to shoot at him, there's no guarantee they'd have hit him either--the place was in chaos. A person with an ordinary automatic or revolver would have difficulty dealing with an assault rifle under those conditions.

Second: Even when it's the bad guy, most people don't think the sight of someone's blood and brains being splattered all over is "beautiful". It's likely that if the security guard had not missed, and someone else had shot him, they'd have been hailed as a hero, and it might have saved some of the lives. This could have been. But I still don't think it would have been "beautiful".

What would have been "beautiful" would have been if laws had been in place to keep him from getting his hands on that assault rifle in the first place.

I've stopped watching any news item with him in it. I can't afford to replace my TV if I throw anything at it.

I feel like I can't afford to lose track of what he's up to. The man is ruthless and relentless and worst of all, rich. A very bad combination in someone who could be president. Even if the Republicans disown him, he can afford to spend his own money--and not have to worry about rules or campaign laws.

In the past, I've always tried to respect the office, if not the person who holds it. But if he gets elected, he'll make a joke out of it, and drag our country to destruction.

You are lucky; you live in a country that was smart enough to ban him.

"Hate" doesn't quite express how I feel about that man. I loathe him. I despise every word out of his mouth. I disrespect all he stands for. In my opinion he is an ignorant, bloviating, egotistical liar, who is so superficial that he equates getting cheers from people who agree with him to being right, and having money with being successful.

But I don't hate him. If some dreadful calamity befell him or his family, I'd feel sorry for him.

I would still loathe him, though.

An elderly friend of my mother's asked her yesterday who she hopes will be president, and my mom said, "Hillary". The lady responded, "Well, I'm a Republican, so I'll vote for Trump." I'm frightened that so many people don't even care about the issues, or the fact that this man is (in my opinion) a mentally ill narcissist. They're just going along with what they've always done before.

That's so sad. I vote for the person, not the party. It's just that in recent years, Democratic candidates line up with my opinions much more than Republicans, at least on the national and state level. Local offices, I've been known to vote Republican if they are more qualified.

He genuinely frightens me. My brother thinks I'm being melodramatic to compare him to Hitler, but history is what I got my BA in. And WWII specifically.

Hitler didn't start off as a popular candidate, and he didn't even have the majority of people in his favor. A lot of what he says, Trump is saying now. It honestly scares me to see history repeating itself, and no one cares.

I don't think I've ever seen our country so divided, not by an ideology, but simply the basis of Republican or Democrat. Something is going to give eventually.

The DH has been making Hitler comparisons for a while now, and I've begun to see them too.

Thing is, I think in one way, he's kind of worse than Hitler. Hitler believed in his own demagoguery and rhetoric. Trump believes only in himself and his own wishes; OTOH, his followers do believe what he says, and they'll be the ones running things.

You are so right! Trump is a very powerful, very crazy, very crude, disaster waiting to happen. I'm afraid he's going to get elected and bring Mordor to power in the US. Some days I believe this country is already doomed but if Trump wins the election then that finishes us. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Clinton supporter either. I just think she *might* be the lesser of the two evils this time.

Worse still, I don't think we are ever going to have sane gun laws in this country no matter who gets into office. And yes, I'm paranoid.

Clinton is certainly the lesser of two evils. But she does know how to act dignified and not insult people for no good reason, and she's intelligent.

I don't think she would be a great president, but I do think she'd try her best to do a decent job.

Trump doesn't want to do the job, he just wants to have the job. He'd turn the actual work over to his sycophants and toadies, while he would turn the White House into a reality show.
