7:50--Woke up; let the dog out and fed the cat and dog; made breakfast (grits, maple sausage, poached eggs and toast. This past month we are trying a new thing--having our daily devotions after breakfast instead of after supper. So we ate at the dining room table and then had our devotions.
8:15--We always DVR "Good Morning America", so we watched the first part of it to catch up to any major news. We turned it off after about forty minutes, got dressed and made up the bed. Last week, we put up our outdoor decorations and the
Christmas tree inside, but we had not put up the rest of the indoor decorations. While the DH made a call to the DISH network about some problems we needed to clear up with our DVD/VHS. (It's technical and I have no idea what was going on, but basically our VHS was not working. Thankfully it was a matter of wires that needed to be moved and the tech talked the DH through it.) Anyway, while he was doing that, I put out the rest of our decorations on the mantle, bookshelves and piano.
Here's the tree, already up:

Top of the mantel.

Top of the piano:

Bookcase 1, next to piano

Bookcase 2, next to front door (the white basket is not a Christmas decoration; we use it to keep the dog's leash, the DH's keys and a few other items it is handy to have by the door. The jar is our change jar. Both of those live there year round.)

About noon we stopped and ate lunch--hot dogs, while we watched a taped episode of "Garage Gold". Then the DH went outside to take care of a few chores, and I spent some time in the sewing room working with my polymer clay. I make jewelry and little things like Christmas ornaments, which I sell to my friends and co-workers.
Here are some pics of a few of my things I made both yesterday and today. Back row are simple sculpted tree ornaments, in the middle row are sets of earrings, and the bottom row are ornaments made with cookie cutters:

3:30--We went to the grocery store to pick up Diet Coke, water and a couple of canned items we were out of. Then we stopped at Braum's where I work. I had a couple of Christmas ornaments I'd made for one of my co-workers to drop off, and we picked up milk, eggnog, cheese and bread. Got home around 4:40.
4:40--I started supper right away. I had hamhock and black-eyed peas simmering, so I put some cornbread into the oven and heated up a can of diced tomatoes to go with them. We watched the news while we ate, and then the DH cleaned up the kitchen for me, since I had to get ready to go to the library.
6:15--Went to the needlework circle at the library. There were four of us, plus the librarian. One lady who had been absent for several weeks due to surgery was back, so we were able to catch up with her. We yacked until 8PM when the library closes, and then headed home.
8:15-- I got home in time to watch "The Great Christmas Light Fight", and had a some cookies for dessert. Then we channel surfed for a while, and the DH went on to bed about 9:30. I surfed YouTube for a little bit, then went in and tidied up the few dishes left from after supper. Just as I was getting ready for bed, we had another mild earthquake.
And that was December 12.

Date: 2016-12-13 11:09 pm (UTC)Eep, all these earthquakes lately are really scary!

Date: 2016-12-14 10:58 am (UTC)I am just getting so tired of them. The majority of them barely rattle the house, but it's enough to really scare the furbabies (especially Sophie) and we always worry that we'll have another bad one.

Date: 2016-12-14 11:04 am (UTC)We could always do without the earthquakes. Sometimes it seems as if we have at least one every day. But even if the fracking is stopped completely (not likely), I worry that the damage is already done and that the quakes will continue now they've begun.
Thank you! We always have so much fun decorating. As soon as I can get the pics at the right time, I'll post some of our outdoor decorations!
