Fic kink thingy

Okay, I wasn't at the fabulous moot (*turns green*) but I've been reading everyone else's lists, so here's mine:


(1) All four hobbits together in the story, pre- or post-Quest. But still canon. I adore stories where they are just four friends together--yet I don't like to see Sam in Buckland before the conspiracy or anything like that. Keep it within the Professor's guidelines.

(2) Bilbo. Bilbo on his own, or Bilbo looking after his young cousins. I really do like Bilbo a lot.

(3) H/C in which Frodo is not the hurt/sick one, but the caregiver/comforter instead. Especially if it is post-Quest Frodo putting aside his own sorrows to take care of his loved ones.

(4) H/C in which hobbits take care of Big People.

(5) Big People in the Shire. But canon, which means either pre-Quest or before the Ban, or that a good explanation is given for them to be there and why.

(6) Young Frodo and wee Merry in Buckland, before Frodo goes to live with Bilbo.

(7) Friendship fics with Sam and Merry.

(8) The cousins being all protective and defending one another. I especially love to see Frodo reaming someone out on Merry's or Pippin's behalf. Politely. With The Look. Or not so politely.

(9) Fellowship fic, especially in Rivendell or Hollin, when they are still getting to know each other.

(10) Hobbits. Hobbits...Hobbits...Hobbits...Hobbits...Hobbits...

*sigh* Not horribly kinky at all, I'm afraid. I'm just a gen girl at heart, I guess.

While reading this I suddenly had this weird feeling of homesickness washing over me. As much as I love to write my rangers and two Noldor elves, I do love to read and write hobbit stories *happy sigh*

I love this too...there are not enough fics that have this, me feels...
And i love your #7 as well..they're both pretty similar i feel, and both care for Frodo so much.

Awesome list...i agree with so much of it.

And yes, i'm gen as well also. (i think other genres like namely slash or mpreg or anything too out of canon is not really expanding upon a wonderful storyline that Tolkien set forth... but i know others may beg to differ in opinion) :P Glad that you write soley gen as well. :)

Once in a while I'll read some slash if its not too graphic, and if I know the person who wrote it. Some of them are actually pretty well written. But I'm not going to write it. It's just that I like things that *could* have happened in JRRT's world best.

But all that stuff above... that's what it's all about.. hobbits!!!! I adore number 9---I can never get enough Fellowship fics. And while I don't read many Bilbo fics, I do make a few exceptions---like your recent fic for Marigold's challenge, that was just delightful.
