Lost emails

I turned on the computer and opened my email, and I had about eight or so new ones pop up. Then my thingie froze up, and I had to back out of the computer, and turn it on again, and when I did, all the new emails were gone. I know some of those were LJ comments, so if you commented to me, that's what happened...

Computers! I'm just teaching my mom how to use one, and I have to keep telling her, "Yes, that (insert crash or error message of your choice) happens to all of us!"

I just reformatted my computer. It's up now, but I can't get to download my antivirus again.

I don't know if it's the same with every company, but you should be able to go to your e-mail provider's site (the @ in your address) and access your mail there. Mine keeps all the e-mail for 30 days, so if you've lost or misplaced stuff you can go there and get it. Kind of like remote access. I didn't know this until recently--rather handy!
