It's wonderful, again, seeing the hobbits through the eyes of someone so different from them, but who can appreiate their value and their heroism.

That's what I love best about Fellowship fic--showing how the others have come to care for the hobbits! (And vice-versa of course.)

I'm liking this story. I always enjoy getting to know the other LOTR characters more *through* the hobbits, and this story is a great example of that. It's also the sort of writing that you do so well in "The Road to Edoras," in which we get to know, and like, your OC's *and* get the canon character fix through their musings.

No...not a nudge at all...actually, I'm working away--I just have to fill in the gaps to where I skipped over to...

I do like to show the thoughts and memories that others have of "our lads", LOL! It's a favorite thing of mine!

I find it difficult to find words. This delves into wonderfully deep undercurrents.

I'm really looking forward to the final chapter. Not enough is written about the dwarves.

I'd like to write something, Thorin & Co. pre-Bilbo. Something about the mines in the Blue Mountains. But I've always been kinda skittish about fan-fics and not to confident with my own writing abilities.

I hope that you find I've done justice to Gimli's POV when it comes.

You ought to give it a shot. You are right about there not being enough Dwarf-fic, although there are a few authors who excel at it, some of it very high quality indeed.

There are a lot of fanfics to *be* skittish about, but if you have a story trying to get out, then you should give it a shot.
