"Chance Encounter" has been significantly rewritten, and beta'd by Marigold, and is now being posted in its new form at Stories of Arda.

I began it last year as a "bunny chase" here on LJ. Some of the parts I posted were no more than snippets, none of them long enough for an actual chapter. Also, I discovered there were some significant canon timeline problems and other inconsistencies. With Marigold's help, I wrestled it into a "proper" story, LOL! And managed to get rid of the troubles caused by posting it in bits and pieces.

I suspect I will have similar troubles after my PippinHealer story is over. There are as many disadvantages as advantages to writing by the seat of your pants.

It's Menelcar! It's Menelcar! Finally!

I've been waiting for Pippin to meet Menelcar again! And now he has! You gave a very plausible reason for why Menelcar would be in Minas Tirith but not have seen Pippin earlier. It makes a lot of sense.

Do we get to hear Pippin and Menelcar sing together again? *crosses fingers and hopes*

So the musical instrument is one that Pippin wanted? What is it, pray tell?

Oh, and I loved the interaction with Faramir and Eowyn in this chapter, and between Eowyn and Merry.

I cannot wait to read more!

I forgot to say in my review but... the hobbits have fangirls! I had to chuckle at that, and it reminded me of your comments about the credits to "Ringers: Lord of the Fans" and how they were debating that hobbits would be better lovers than elves, which made me chuckle more. Ah, hobbits. *grins*

Yes, I was having a bit of fangirling going on. I thought it would be amusing, and, let's face it, that *is* one side effect of fame, and I don't think it's really anything new.

That was so funny! I'd tell you what all they said, except I'd hate to spoil it for you. I really think it was the funniest moment in the whole documentary.

I doubt I'll be picking up Ringers anytime soon. It'll probably be dependant on, when the next time I'm at the video store, if a) they have it in stock and b) I even see it while scanning for other movies. With the long weekend coming up, and since I always stay in on New Year's, I'll probably go video-hunting tomorrow after work. Hopefully, I'll see it and get it. That part at least sounds worth the money to rent it.

Well, some parts of it are a tad boring--I think they spend a little too much time on the history of the Bakshi and Rankin-Bass productions for one thing. But the rest of it makes up for that.
