What a day!

I actually thought I was going to sleep through the night last night. But the DH and I woke to the sound of steady rain about a quarter to five, and of course, we *had* to go check...Yep, my sewing/craft room had flooded, *again*. We have this down to a sorry routine now. Move the few items out of the way, open the door to the carport, start sweeping out the water, and throw down about a million towels. And I had *just* gotten all the laundry done and caught up yesterday.
Meanwhile, we are cleaning this mess up, and the dogs, who refused to go off the front porch, crapped on the living room rug. *sigh*
Well, by the time we had everything dealt with, it was too late to go back to bed. And it's going to be a long day today, as DH has to work late on Wednesdays...
Oh well, at least I got to read a few fics this morning and update "Chance Encounter".
But I'm so sleepy...

Argh, unexpected floods are awful! I've had two water pipes burst under my apartment floor (a year apart), and the mess and bother can be exhausting.

I hope you get a GOOD night's sleep tonight.

Well, these are not *entirely* unexpected. This particular room floods about four or five times a year. It used to be a carport, and the western side of the room just will flood at the slightest excuse. I try not to keep anything on that half of the room that is not water proof, and can be quickly moved. Still, one always hopes it won't happen *this* time!
And we've tried numerous things to solve the problem. It's better than it used to be, so some of the things we've done have helped. But nothing seems to stop it completely.

No, not really. It's hard enough to function, much less function quickly,at that time of day.
