Love the mushrooms on the doors! That is very Hobbity indeed! And that is a hobbit-friendly looking fridge as well. Any hobbit would be thrilled to have that in the kitchen and filled with nice Hobbity foods!
We went into this used furniture store so he could show me the piece he'd picked out to use for his laptop desk, and there it was at the top of the stairs on the second floor. It was love at first sight!
I know! And now we've got it home, and I can examine it carefully, I think someone *built* that--it's solid wood, for one thing, no veneer, and the construction just doesn't look "commercial", if you know what I mean.
Ah, now that's a cute idea! Little Pippin all scrunched up in there with whatever little treat he's managed to liberate from the larder...
Yes, the furnace is fine--they just had to turn it off to work on the gas for the stove. But it took it a while to warm up again while we had people tromping in and out all day.
Love the cupboard. And the appliances are so shiny! I have to get new applicances for my move - do you like the refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom? Collecting data, there's too many choices out there for me!
Well, the freezer on the bottom is supposed to be more energy efficient, and this one has drawers to pull out, so I don't have to crawl on the floor to get stuff out. I'd like it better if we could have hooked up the icemaker, but we couldn't afford the plumbing for that right now. I love all the space at the top, in the fridge part--very roomy and easy to get at, and lots of space in the drawer, too. And this fridge has a little alarm that beeps if you leave the door open too long!
I *had* a full sized seperate freezer at the other house, which I miss, but there's no space for such a thing here.
That cupboard looks very roomy. And it definitely has a hobbity character about it. Is that a gas oven? Sometimes I miss cooking with gas ovens. (My parents have one, so it's what I learned to cook on.)
