Keeping awake...

I'm seldom up this time of night. We usually go to bed about 10, though sometimes I wake up in the wee hours and get up. But the poor DH has gone to the ER with a sore throat, poor baby. We're afraid it might be strep, *sigh*!

Anyway, I won't be online in the mornings much next week, as I've volunteered to help out with VBS at church. I don't know how well it's going to work out: the contractor, who was supposed to have finished by now (which was the plan when I volunteered) has been delayed by the rain. All his work now *should* be mainly exterior, though so maybe there won't be any problem. And I should be home by shortly after noon.

In other news--see my new icon? danachan made it from the same picture I used for the "Hole Sweet Hole" items at the Mathom-house! And she made me some other cool icons too!

Completely off topic and probably not the sort of thing one should mention after reading a vacation Bible school post but here it is because I can't resist letting you know. Gamgeefest has suggested that Miss Dora might be the author of the interesting book of positions that those wicked hobbit lasses had. Now there's a book I would have bet that she didn't write! hehehe

There must have been something in the air for some people last night; I didn't get to bed until well after midnight. I can't remember the last time I watched the clock strike 12am.

I do hope the DH doesn't have strep, but either way, the poor lad will be uncomfortable for a while. Hope he gets something to ease it.

I got the notice this morning that my t-shirt and two buttons are on their way. :-) The Dark shirt from the Emporium will take a few days though.

I hope you don't get this message twice; you'll be twice as bored, lol, but I think my fat-fingers hit a wrong key and wiped out the previous one. Oh well. My hobbit tummy is screaming for breakfast...

Hope your DH feels better. That sounds really uncomfortable.

Love the icon. Wish I wasn't so broke this summer. I'd order something, if I could. Maybe after things settle down this fall.

PF is right. Last night must have been the unofficial everyone stay up way past their bedtime night. I didn't get there till 2:00 this morning.

Have fun at VBS. I love working ours. This year was especially good because the kids were younger, for the most part, than they had been in the last few years. Plus, they were very well behaved. No real fights, no one hiding under the church van, only one minor theft of a necklace the kids had made; over-all quite peaceful.

I had strep a few months ago and it hurt sooooo badly! I literally lay in bed and whimpered like a baby, and I have a pretty good pain threshold (you saw that I ran on bloody toes yesterday and didn't even notice, lol). The only thing that helped was taking about 4 ibuprofen every 4 hours and taking a sleeping pill to allow me to sleep for a few hours at a time. So I am so sympathetic to your DH!

He's feeling much better! The strep culture came back negative, but the ER doc said it was some sort of raging infection, so he gave him a high powered antobiotic and an anti-inflammatory. He's got to stay home from church anyway, as contractor guys are here again today.

I'm looking forward to it. I haven't participated in one since my son (now 30) got too old for it after sixth grade. *grin* I get to help with the crafts for the rugrats (2 year olds); which after working at Michael's all those years is right up my alley.

Not Miss Dora. She'd be Highly Offended at the Thought! (However, she's quite practical, so I don't think she'd disapprove of married lasses making use of it to Improve their Marriages, LOL! Just don't speak of it in Mixed Company!)

If he weren't such an old bachelor, I might suspect Bilbo. Hmm...maybe he also found that "art book" Pippin came across when he was in Rivendell the first time...

Just had my breakfast, and I was such a good girl this morning: Sugar-free oatmeal, tiny OJ, small skim milk.

I'll be helping the 2-year-olds with their crafts! Right up my alley!

I understand. What with cost overruns on the remodelling, I'm going to be scrambling to get the rest of the money I need. If we had not already bought my non-refundable airline ticket, I'd have to be cancelling my trip.

He was feeling much better with the zithromax; but then they had to go in and call him to work tonight, because one of his nurses is out. *sigh* I just hope he'll be okay...
