Three weeks from today, I will be in Scotland!! And so very much to do before then, both to have done before I go, and for the trip...
Here in no particular order, my to-do list for the next three weeks:
1. Finish making jacket and hobbit-costume.
2. Get some new underwear.
3. Get luggage.
4. Find airport in OK City. (We will probably do that next weekend.)
5. Finish making gifties.
6. Find out about exchanging money.
7. Get hair done.
8. Finish exchange fic--due 9/10.
9. Finish and post next chapter of Road to Edoras before I go.(Actually hope to get two more in...)
10. Make sure all library books are turned before I go.
11. Make some meals to freeze for the DH while I'm gone.
12. Get some more phone minutes.
13. New make-up?
14. Figure out what I will want in my carry-on...(needs to check list of what's allowed...)
And there will probably be a bunch more things before I go--not to mention that on 9/3 is the DH's birthday, and 9/11 is our 31st anniversary, so we'll need to do something for that...
At least the two most important things are done: passport and ticket! Yay!
But I just know there are going to be a bajillion things I haven't thought of!

Date: 2007-08-31 03:44 pm (UTC)*eee* hobbit costume!!! I so want to wear mine again but there's no room for it in the suitcase and I don't yet know whether I'd even be able to wear it.

What's your hobbit costume like? Do you have a pic of you in it?

I'm the Frodo on the very left. I do have his coat as well - and a huge brown cloak :)

PS: Did you know that Tiny Bag End was featured in today's Hobbit Month post by

Date: 2007-09-01 02:13 pm (UTC)Thanks for the tip! That was a cool post. I was quite blown away by seeing my hobbit house in that animated picture-thing... I need to figure out how to do that. ;P

Date: 2007-09-02 01:16 pm (UTC)I remember liking some of The Doors songs, but I don't know that I was a big fan of Van Morrison personally--he came and went so quickly and tragically.
I just broke my face grinning when I realized yours was the first link! But I also loved that "virtual hobbit house" all decorated for Christmas, and the links to the RL "hobbit holes"--some of those were fascinating. If I ever win the lottery...

Date: 2007-09-02 04:42 pm (UTC)And I think you must be thinking of Jim Morrison. Van Morrison (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_morrison) is alive and well, still making music after five decades!

Date: 2007-09-01 03:02 am (UTC)Oh and finding the airport is really easy. There are signs posted on all the highways and once you get into the area, all roads lead to Rome as they say. It's pretty much the only thing around there. I'd probably take I-40 to Meridian Ave, then go south. Meridian will lead you straight to the airport. Unfortunately, I can't give you any specifics about the airport itself. They recently finished a major renovation and I haven't been out there since then.

Date: 2007-09-01 12:09 pm (UTC)However, if you happen to be in the area around lunchtime, Meridian has a lot of places to stop and eat. In that case, you'd be better off taking the I-40 route, which will take you right through the middle of "Restaurant Row".
Hope I haven't managed to confuse you too much.
