Date: 2007-11-11 11:31 pm (UTC)Buttermilk...hmmm...It's one of those things people either love or hate. It's kind of sour and thick, like a milkshake. There's a sort of nice acidy taste to it. If you like plain yogurt, you might like buttermilk. It's most refreshing when drunk icy cold. My favorite is buttermilk with cornbread and homemade vegetable soup.
It's also great for cooking: a wonderful baking ingredient, and makes a wonderful marinade for fried chicken or pork chops, and it's an essential ingredient in Ranch Salad Dressing.
