I was very pleased and honored to learn that some of my stories placed in the MEFAs. Specifics behind the cut:
Miss Dora Baggins\' Book of Manners received Second Place in Races:
Hobbits: Incomplete
The Three Hunters received First Place in Genres: Adventure: General
A Mother\'s Work received Second Place in Races: Hobbits: Vignette
The Dwarf Dagger received an Honorable Mention in Genres: Drama: The Shire
When the King Comes Back (the Great Smials) received Third Place in
Genres: Drama: The Shire
The Archives Incident received Third Place in Genres: Adventure: Minas
Tirith
A New Reckoning received an Honorable Mention in Races: Cross-Cultural:
General
Tom Cotton received Second Place in Races: Hobbits: Post-Grey Havens
A Passing Troll received Third Place in Genres: Humor: The Shire or Buckland
I have to say, I was very surprised that "When the King Comes Back (the Great Smials)" placed, as that was my first fic, and I can see all the flaws in it now. And I'm very gratified at "Tom Cotton" placing, because where I first posted it (Marigold's Challenge 1) it recieved no comments at all.
Thank you ever so much to all of the people who reviewed!

Date: 2008-01-02 04:45 pm (UTC)A big 'thank you' also, for nominating my Left Behind, which took a second place in a strange category called Drama:Featuring Merry (or something like that). Obviously, I couldn't have done it without you!
Congratulations!

Date: 2008-01-03 07:16 pm (UTC)And "Left Behind" was amazing! I can still recall how enthralled I was with it when I read it the first time!

Date: 2008-01-02 05:27 pm (UTC)And thank you for your reviews! You've been very busy - (much busier than me!)
WtKCB might have been your first story - but the potential is all there. I really enjoyed looking over A New Reckoning again. And being reminded of the horribleness of Hyacinth. Yea for the troll.

Date: 2008-01-03 07:18 pm (UTC)Well, you know, I do love your stuff--I think you are probably the only person that could have me reading Fourth Age Elves in Valinor, and liking it!
And I'm very glad that you enjoyed re-reading my stuff--that's always lovely to hear!

Date: 2008-01-02 06:02 pm (UTC)And thank you for all the reviewing you did of other people. Expect a proper "thank you" from me once I get the results out. But I'll say it here, too.
*cheers for you*

Date: 2008-01-03 07:22 pm (UTC)I'm very glad you enjoyed "Tom Cotton"--the response to that was surprising and gratifying!
As for my reviewing, my goal this year was smaller than the last two years, and I still just barely got it in under the wire! There were *SO* many other stories I wanted to R & R, and I just flat ran out of time!

Date: 2008-01-03 07:26 pm (UTC)And thanks for the kind words on "Miss Dora". That is such a fun story to work on! It gives me an excuse to just pontificate about Hobbits and the Shire to my heart's content, LOL! And then I can just blame it all on poor Miss Dora!!
