Gulf Wars XIV

Sooo...I know that there are a few SCAdians on my flist. Are any of you going to be at Gulf Wars? I myself will be daytripping, hopefully everyday except Saturday (have to *work*) and it might be cool to meet some of you there.

You know, I haven't done any SCA stuff in a long time. When and where are the Gulf Wars?

I'm really looking forward to it, in spite of having to miss the big Saturday, and Great Court. I'm hoping I will at least be able to attend Meridian Court.
Gulf Wars has a lot of activities you don't find at most other wars, such as equestrian and hound coursing.

Darn, it's a week before my spring break! I have a plane ticket to anywhere in the country because I cancelled my ride back to VA in time, so I was hoping to use it. Maybe some other war, I guess. Too bad, because this one sounds like so much fun!

It is, it's loads of fun. The site is great; Meridians use it a lot for other events as well, and this is our group's first year with a permanent site. I usually spend a lot of my time at Scribe's Point, working on scrolls, but I try to make time to watch some of the battles, and to see some of the equestrian stuff. I always seem to just miss watching the hounds. There are a lot of great merchants,too. I've never been to Pennsic, so Gulf Wars is my big war experience.
I hate that I'm going to have to miss Great Court this year, though. I always love seeing all the various royalty coming in with their heralds and their entourage!

Aw. Sorry you won't be able to make it! I would have loved to have a chance to meet you in RL (not that an SCA event is exactly RL, LOL! but you know what I mean.

Well, I won't be going to Pennsic. It *is* on my list of dream vacations one of these days, but unfortunately won't be this year. What Kingdom are you in?
