I went to work today, and was scheduled to 5, because it was scrapbook discovery day...


They had a nice little set of projects and various pages picked for us to offer customers. I took along some pics, just in case I decided to do a page for myself, but was kept too busy helping my helpers and the customers.
So: what pics did I take? My polymer Frodo,who finally has hands,from about five different angles, and the work in progress pics I'm doing of a model of Bag End! Everybody *else* has pics of vacations and grandkids...

And one of the projects we did was really cute, using vellum paper printed with various sayings about friendship. One of them was a quote from Winnie-the-Pooh, "If you live to be one hundred, then I want to live to be one hundred minus one day, so I never have to live a day without you." Needless to say, I immediately thought of Merry and Pippin, and started getting plot bunnies.

The DH picks me up, and takes me out to eat at a terrific catfish house, and on the way home we stopped at K-Mart so he could pick up birdseed and ArmorAll. I'm really tired, and wait in the car, working on a story in my head. He comes out and brings me a surprise--they had LotR Risk on the clearance shelves!
Too tired to mess with it tonight, but I hope we will get to play with it this week. I have the world's best DH!

And I *finally* have an idea of how to do that story that grey_wonderer asked me for on fic_sharing! Now, if I can just find the time to write it...

On a more cheerful note, I want to take Polymer Marigold over to Llinos' and ask her to take a pic and make an icon for me : ) PM is so cool!! lonewolf02 is still really jealous, lol!

I know. When I saw it, I actually said "Oh, poor Merry and Pippin" out loud, and got a funny look from the customer I was helping with her project.

I have some pics of Polymer Marigold that I took before I sent her off. I can try to email them to you. When coneygoil finally gets to come over again, she's going to teach me how to post pics to my LJ, and then you can see Polymer Frodo and my Bag End.

LOL A friend at work makes these little bird houses that are really just for decoration and she has been making them for everyone at work to set on their desks. She came to me the other day and asked what sort of things I was interested in for the bird house she planned to make me because she decorates them. I had to laugh because I had seen the others she'd made covered in pretty flowers and birds and cats and baking items. I think I shocked her when I told her I was interested in LOTR, fantasy in general, and sci-fi. I will let you know how the bird house turns out *if* she even attempts it! Your craft story made me think of this.

Oh, I am looking forward to the fic_sharing story! "Oh, Danny boy, the pipes the pipes are calling, from glen to glen and down the mountainside..."

Maybe you'll get your birdhouse! If your friend's a real crafter, she won't be put off by a challenge--though it might take her a while to figure it out.

I got inspired to do the Bag End model, partly out of envy at the lovely interior miniatures that elwenlj has shown, and partly because we got these little plain resin egg shaped houses, meant to have all kinds of fake candy embellishments put on them, in the store for Easter, and I thought, "you know...that looks a *little bit* like a hobbit house, if I just..."

Oh, I've been listening to *all kinds* of bagpipe music for the last couple weeks. I warn you--it's definitely going to be AU. Not quite as AU as "Hound of the Bagginses" but AU nevertheless...*grin*

AU can be fun! I don't mind AU as long as it's for a good cause and I believe that this is an excellent cause, so AU all you want. I shall await the pipers.

That's one of my favorite Winnie-the-Pooh quotes, and it really relates to Merry and Pippin. I'm not sure what kind of plotbunnies it gave you (the only ones I can think of are terribly sad, and I can't bring myself to write them) but I do hope you write a story about it someday.
