Fandom serendipity

Mother's Day was lovely yesterday. I talked to both my mother and my son on the phone, and then we had a very nice church service. Afterwards we came home to change, as the DH was taking me to Tulsa. So I changed out of my dress, and decided to wear my "I ♥ hobbits!" T-shirt, along with my LotR jacket I'd made for ScotMoot.

Yaay! I had *THREE* LotR conversations--one with the young guy who waited on us at lunch, and one in Barnes & Noble, and a third with the girl who checked out my purchases at Michael's. In fact, she asked where I archived my stories, and wrote down my author name, so she could check them out! *grin*

*happy sigh* I do love wearing my hobbitsheart on my sleeve!

Well, there seem to be a *few* of us hiding around here! My wearable art is bait to draw them out, LOL!

Sort of. It's one of the designs I made for my Cafe Press shop. I have some hobbit themed stuff, and some fanfic-in-general stuff there.

wow, isn't that the coolest? It's so great to meet other "geeks". :)) I kind of let my tattoo act as a secret handshake. If someone knows what it is, then it's immediately an LOTR conversation! (my white tree on my shoulder)

I love wearing my hobbit or LOTR shirts and hoody. People definitely look, if nothing else to see what it is, and often comment. I really want to get more shirts. Mine are starting to get worn out. I wear them a lot.:)

In addition to my jacket and my T-shirts I have my purse that I made, which also works as a conversation starter. Sadly, after three years it's starting to fade, so I think I'll soon be making another before my hobbits disappear entirely, LOL!

Ahhh, I wish I had an 'I love Hobbits' t-shirt, or an 'I love elves'.....
you really confused me for a mo though, as I though *MOTHER'S DAY' and panicked....but, then I realised we'd already had it in England, in March!

Mother's Day is the second Sunday of May here. And Father's Day is the third Sunday of June!
