Today a story I have been following was posted "Complete". The story is "The King's Commission" by Larner, and it is brilliant.

The story takes place a couple of years after Frodo left from the Havens; the POV character is a wonderfully realized OC, but there is a good deal of interaction between him and all the major players still left in Middle Earth, most especially Aragorn and the remaining hobbits. And though he has gone, the theme and focus of the story is Frodo himself.
There is a lot going on in this story: some angst, some humor, some old-fashioned h/c, a good deal of romance, a little adventure and a lot of intrigue. It deals with a few serious and controversial themes with sensitivity, and there is a healthy dollop of *good* sentimentality, but it's never soppy. It weighs in at a hefty and satisfying 80 chapters, and is a delightful read.

I hope some of you will check this story out. I will definitely be re-reading this one!

I will take your word for it. I might be a strange one, but I enjoy long, good fics that you can sink your teeth into. Thanks for this recommendation.
