Whew!!

I'm really tired after a very long day in Tulsa, and then teaching my class tonight--I'll be glad to report on it in more detail tomorrow, but right now in spite of my headache and upset tum, I have to say: YAAAYYY!! WHOO-HOO!! I came home to a treat!

Because the_arc5 is posting a fic for me!! Some of you may know that for *ages and ages* I've requested a hobbit-version of "The Quiet Man", with Merry as John Wayne and Estella as Maureen O'Hara.

Well, she's doing it!
The Quiet Hobbit: Foreword In which she explains just what the story is about, and how I persuaded her to write it. (The conversation did not go *exactly* like that--I seem to remember that she swallowed sooner than that...but mushroom pie definitely played a part...)
The Quiet Hobbit: Chapter Two In which she sets the story up beautifully!! Of course, the Shire and Inisfree have a lot in common--green grass, rolling hills, and gossip...
