Halloween picspam

Here's a few pics from tonight:

I'm in SCA garb, natch. A 15th c. houppelande and headdress.

The little animated mummy doggie is so cute. His red eyes light up, and he barks and wags his tail. He reminds us of "Zero" in "A Nightmare Before Christmas"!


We started about 6 handing out candy, and were completely wiped out by 8. Not a single piece left. Lots of really cute trick-or-treaters! I think my favorites were a baby mermaid, a little girl dressed like Alice in Wonderland, and a whole family of Flintstones: mom and dad dressed like Fred and Wilma, baby in the carriage dressed like Bam-Bam (it was a little boy) and the dog dressed in a dinosaur costume!

I missed it this year because I was at work and by the time I drove home, it was over. My Father had close to 300 kids turn up though. Dad loves Halloween! One little girl was dressed as a bee and she had her dog with her and the dog was wearing a bee costume too! LOL

Thanks! Last year I wore my hobbit-lass outfit from ScotMoot, and nearly froze. So this year I pulled out this old SCA outfit.

Aw...it's a shame you missed out! We are really enjoying Halloween here. In Mississippi there weren't many trick-or-treaters in the neighborhoods. They all went to the mall for trick=or-treat.

We had a little bumblebee, too! She was so cute!

Having been privileged enough to see them in person, I can attest to the awesomeness of all of the above! I'm glad you had a good Halloween. I went as Wendy from Peter Pan...I even made my own Tinkerbell to put in a little lantern. It was tons of fun.

By the way...I left my earrings and those patterns AGAIN. You may have to mail them to me to get them back to my house!

There were only about a half-a-dozen houses on our block with the lights on. (A porch light means that you are "open" for trick-or-treat.) Many of the people here do a thing called "trunk-or-treat" where they go to their church's parking lot and pass out candy from their car trunks! I'd never heard of that before we moved here.

Great photos! I love the decorations. What are the two pumpkins on the left side of your house carved as? I can't quite make them out.

One is a spider, and the other is a cat. I did those last year, using styrofoam pumpkins. We use "glow-sticks" to illuminate them.

I've never been trick or treating - and haven't seen any kids last night. I guess I live too central. Families avoid that place - it's haunted by students. :p

Yes, that's him, hiding in the corner, LOL! He had great fun turning the little doggie on when the trick-or-treaters approached!

Thank you! Though there were many houses in town with much more elaborate decorations! Today we will take down the black garlands and put away the jack o' lanterns, but we will leave up the fall wreath, the orange lights and scarecrow, and we will put up some autumn garland on the porch rails for Thanksgiving.

They were so cute! and the little doggie dinosaur had a little teensy stuffed "Barney" perched on his back!

Thanks! It's so fun to decorate for Halloween! We are hoping to do a little more next year!

The DH bought the little dog last year at Michael's. He was on the display--but they were all out of them, the display doggie was the last one left, and since he was a little dirty, and his little tail was broken, we got him for a 50% discount. We just fell in love with him! I guess he's supposed to be scary, but I think he looks kind of cute!

Fun! Everything looks great...we don't get kids at our door anymore, and it was sort of raining most of the evening, so it was really, really quite Halloween around here.
