The one nearly everyone on my flist has been doing? Here it is. I'm not tagging anyone, though. But if you want to do it, feel free to change a question you don't like, or add one if you want.
01. What are your nicknames?
Well, my LJ name, Dreamflower, is one, and then my SCA name, AElfwina is another. I used to answer to AElfie in my old group. But in RL I’ve always been Barbara. A few people have called me “Barb”, but I never cared much for that.
02. How does your hair look currently?
It’s long--past shoulder length--and straight. I have bangs that need trimming right now. It’s mostly a medium brown, though at last I’ve begun to sprout a few grey hairs at my temples. Sometimes I put in some lighter highlights, and possibly will do that again soon.
03. What's new in your life right now?
My job at Braum’s. It’s nice to be in retail again, even if it’s groceries.
04. How many colours are you wearing now?
Two..
05. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Both. Depends on my mood.
06. What was the last book you read?
Southern Living 2003, a cookbook. (And yes, I *read* it. I like to just read cookbooks for fun.)
08. Who is your favorite super hero?
I loved all the classic DC superheroes--Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern--but not the modern ones, I loved them back in what they called the “Silver Age” in the sixties. They were a lot more fun back then. I don’t care for the newer and more angsty versions.
09. Is there anything that has made you happy these days?
Our President-Elect, Barack Obama.
10. What's your current obsession?
Hobbits. Nothing new about that. They’ve been my obsession for most of my life.
11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
About five minutes or so. I get up, make up my side of the bed, go to the bathroom, wash my face and throw on my clothes--including my socks and shoes. I can’t stand to sit around in my bathrobe all day--even when I’m sick, I prefer to get dressed.
12. What websites do you visit daily?
LJ, Stories of Arda, The Last Ship, Google and gmail, World of Solitaire.
13. Do you write fic? What was the last fic you wrote?
The last one I wrote has not been posted yet; I just finished my challenge story for the GFIC community,
lotr_communityIt's not due to be posted for a while.
14. What's the last thing you laughed about?
Well, I have chuckled or chortled about any number of things, but the last thing to make me cackle like a loon was this set of fics by
grey_wonderer
15. What's the last song that got stuck in your head?
A really stupid jingle from a car dealer’s commercial. Hopefully something less obnoxious will replace it soon…
16. What's the last movie you saw?
All the way through, on purpose? An old western, The Big Country that starred Gregory Peck and Charlton Heston among others. I’d seen bits and pieces of it before, it’s a favorite of my husband’s--but I’d never sat through the whole thing before. It’s a really good Western, and even though it has most of the clichés of the genre, it uses them in a very different way. Gregory Peck is awesome.
17. Do you buy or download the movies you watch?
We are so old-fashioned, LOL! We usually rent them from the local Movie Gallery. I don’t think we’ve ever actually tried to download a movie--I’m not sure I would even know how to do that
*18. What's the last thing you cooked or baked?
I made up a new recipe for pork chops last night, involving peaches and soy sauce. They were pretty good.

Date: 2009-01-16 09:36 pm (UTC)If you have a Redbox anywhere nearby, you should give it a try. We've been renting movies there a lot lately. It's $1 per night and every Monday they release a code you can enter into the machine for a free one night (Monday only) rental. Check it out here: Inside Redbox.

Date: 2009-01-18 06:19 am (UTC)The pork chops sound good. Even though I no longer eat pork, I still miss it. Out of all of the meats that I've given up, pork tempts me the most. The last time I slipped about two years ago, it was for bacon. LOL
