Water, water, everywhere!

Well, I *would* be at work about now, but I'm waiting until the rest of the rain passes over and they say the streets are safe.
Flooded again this AM,and not just the little section by the door to the outside in my sewing room that always floods. NOOoooo, this time it was half the sewing room, my husband's bathroom, the laundry room and the kitchen. Been up since 5AM, sweeping out water, and laying down towels, and my husband estimated about 32 gallons he emptied from the wet-vac. I was completely caught up with laundry, but now I have about 10 jillion towels to wash.
Lovely little April Fool's joke on us, but Mother Nature really needn't have bothered.
I'm so glad it's Challenge day. I need a cheer-me-up.

Oh, no! Hope you didn't lose any fabric/supplies in the flooding of the sewing room!

I'm so used to the one section flooding that nothing goes there that can get water damaged. And fortunately, I just happened not to have *much* out on the other side. I have about a quarter of a bolt of cotton osnaberg that I'm going to have to launder (which I need to do anyway before I cut into it) and I lost a roll of kraft paper that I use to make patterns. Also, thank goodness, I recently made some changes in the way I have things plugged in, so I didn't have any active extension cords lying in the water. Just lucky that way, I guess!

Fortunately not. We've no carpet on that side of the house, so mostly it was just sucking up, soaking up or sweeping out, the water. But I finally did have to go to work, which I also have to today, and we have a houseful of stinky towels. Rainwater seems to get that musty smell a lot faster than regular water for some reason.

Sorry to hear about your flood. It's raining here too and has been for several hours. I guess April is officially here and it will be rain and more rain for a while. I do hope that you didn't have much damage from the water.

Not a whole lot, no. Sad to say, we are almost used to flooding--just not quite as much as we got today, though! "April showers", hmmph! Someone left the shower on way too long!
