Mews dear, I hope you've been having a Happy Birthday! Here's a little dribble for you, inspired by the first story of yours that I read, "In Frodo's Hands":

(In Minas Tirith, Pippin observes Frodo and remembers.)

Remembering Frodo's Hands

I watch him sleep, now, exhausted by all the celebrations.
Sam, protective as ever, slumbers soundly by his side.
Merry has gone to protect someone else dear,
Théoden's place of rest in the hallows.
So now I watch my Frodo,
tracing the lines of sorrow;
remembering his gentle hands
guiding my own
childish ones
carefully.

Isn't Pippin a sweetie? It was love of Frodo that brought both Pippin and Merry to where they were. They had to love him even more after all he went through.

I totally agree. Somehow, much as I like Sam, the cousins and their love for each other always had a bigger place in my heart.

I love all of them together, but it's true, I think the cousin connection is also just as special in its own way--Frodo got to love Sam as he came to know him, but Merry and Pippin he loved from birth; they were his own blood and bone, after all.
